Drexel Profile lowboy dresser. What a beauty! Drexel remains one of my favorite brands to work on. They always used really gorgeous walnut, and their drawers are always insanely heavy, deep and well made! 🤌

Common question! How to know what grit to use and when to strip. I work on mostly veneer furniture so I don’t like to go below 100 grit. Sometimes I’ll do 80 if I’m feeling spicy. But the safe bet is if 100 doesn’t work, stop and strip! I always start with 150. Most of these pieces from the 60’s have worn down lacquer topcoats and I’ve found 150 removes most of it and is smooth enough to only sand once!
