Score it, tape it, mud it. It doesn't have to be perfect at the scoring stage because the mud is what brings it together.

The temptation on a tight fit is to angle the piece so it drops in easier. That's the lazy version, and it shows in the finish. The right move is to score a straight line, shave it down to fit properly, and let the mud do what mud is supposed to do. A slightly wider patch is fine. A sloppy angle that gets buried under mud is not. The patch will outlast the shortcut every time.

If you want work that holds up long term, reach out. That's the standard we work to on every job.

We brought someone on, offered him a stake in the business, introduced him at our home. The next day he texted to say good luck and that he was out.

About a week later a client called. She'd received an unemployment document from him. He admitted in writing that he'd quit, that he'd done it to other companies before, and that his plan was to file for unemployment to get back on his feet. He put all of it in writing.

Hiring is one of the hardest parts of running a service business. Integrity and accountability are the only things we screen for that actually matter. Do with that information what you will.

Nothing in this building is square. Every sheet of drywall is a custom cut, and the rafters range from two-and-a-half inches wide to four-and-a-quarter, which means the drywall warps if you don't account for it.

The fix is cripple studs added between the rafters to create a consistent surface, then drywall against that. Other contractors came in and said demo it. We found a way to work with what's there. It takes longer. It requires more thinking. But the finish looks like one wall when it's done, and that's the only standard that matters.

If you've been told your garage is too far gone to fix, give us a call. We'd like to take a look.

Finish when we finish. That's the bottom line on a job like this.

Running over on a 100-year-old building isn't an excuse, it's just the reality of working in a structure where nothing is level and every assumption you walked in with gets tested. The commitment to the homeowner was a timeline and a result, and that doesn't change because the job is harder than expected. No shortcuts. No cutting corners to make up time. The finish has to be right, and we stay until it is.

If you want a crew that holds itself to that standard, reach out for a free estimate.

A bad epoxy job is one of the more expensive mistakes a homeowner can end up with, and this one is a good example of why.

When the two-part resin and hardener go down, the flake broadcast has to be consistent corner to corner. Running out of flakes mid-job means some areas go heavy and others go light, and the edge line at the garage door wasn't straight. Now there's an HOA issue, a sun-exposure issue where the epoxy is already cracking at the edge, and a quality problem the homeowner is going to be living with. Epoxy is a complete system. Every inch of it has to be solid. When someone cuts corners on material and runs short, the homeowner pays for it twice.

If you want it done right the first time, reach out. We'll walk you through exactly what a proper epoxy job looks like.

Fire season is not the time to find out your sprinklers were blocked.

California Residential Code requires 18 inches of clearance around every fire sprinkler at all times. That's not a suggestion, it's a mandatory law. And it's one of the most common violations we see in garages, because stuff gets stacked up and nobody thinks about what's overhead. A fire starts in an instant. Don't be the homeowner who covered the sprinklers and decided to deal with it if something happened.

If you're not sure whether your garage is up to code, reach out. A free estimate is a good place to start.

The QR code bin hack is going around right now. It's not a hack.

Here's what actually happens: you generate a QR code, attach it to a bin, scan it, log what's inside. Sounds great. What the tutorial doesn't mention is that the database hosting those codes requires a monthly subscription, sometimes up to $30. Miss a payment and the account gets deleted. Now you have bins stacked high with dead QR codes and no record of what's in any of them. So you pull them all down, start over, and put regular labels on them anyway.

Skip the workaround. If you want a system that actually holds up long term, send us a message and we'll set it up right.

The things in a garage have usually been accumulating for years. Some of them for decades. That's not random stuff. That's someone's life.

So when we hire, the two things we're looking for are integrity and accountability. Can this person be trusted when nobody's watching? Will they do the right thing for the right reasons even when it's inconvenient? Those qualities matter in this work more than almost anything technical, because the homeowner is trusting us with things that can't be replaced.

If that's the kind of team you want in your space, reach out. We'd love to show you what we can do.

Revenue has climbed 80% month over month since February. On track for $60K this month. And the biggest problem right now is the owner becoming the bottleneck.

Can't do the work and close the calls at the same time. That's the ceiling most service businesses hit, and it's a good problem to have compared to the alternative. What's driven the demand is social proof. Neighbors see what their neighbor's garage looks like after a reset, and they want it. Now we're booking two to three months out on resets alone, and homeowners are willing to wait.

If you want to get on the schedule before it fills up further, send us a message now.

Sports gear is one of the hardest categories to store. Lacrosse sticks, fishing poles, anything long and oddly shaped has nowhere logical to go in most garages.

The fix is a cabinet with a larger cavity and more vertical space. Something you can just put the stuff in, close the door, and move on. It gives you the clean visual you're after while actually dedicating a zone to that category. That's the principle behind all of it: everything gets a zone, and the zone is sized for what actually lives there.

If you're not sure how to zone your garage for the way you actually use it, reach out and we'll show you what that looks like.
