Every nursery has their own philosophy. Ours is simple: grow healthy plants with better long term success while supporting the ecosystem they’re meant to be a part of.

We focus on growing plants that can adapt to real garden conditions and support pollinators along the way. We prefer to let the plants develop their natural growth habits instead of artificially controlling their size.

We avoid broad-spectrum insecticides that could negatively affect pollinators or beneficial insects. We prefer to monitor plants and respond when necessary. For example, we use iron phosphate as a targeted treatment to manage slugs on an as-needed basis with low risk to bees and butterflies than broad-spectrum insecticides.

We grow plants for gardens and pollinators that we’re proud of putting in our own garden. We can’t promise picture perfect plants and we’re okay with that because we’re growing a habitat too.

Life is always buzzing, slithering, and scurrying around Tobin Plant Co 🐍

Swipe to meet some of our tiny garden co-workers in our thriving ecosystem, from our busy bee pollinators, master pest-controllers, nature’s recyclers, and foragers!

A few of them might munch on one too many leaves.. but a nibbled leaf is a sweet reminder that we’ve built a truly healthy, living ecosystem for nature’s hard workers.

Starting a new series with one of our favorite statement plants 🔥

We love amaranth for its bold colors, fun textures, fast summer growth, and long bloom time. They’re statement plants for adding height in gardens or whimsy in fresh or dried bouquets! Dried seed heads will also attract goldfinches, sparrows, and other seed eaters later in the season 🐤

Amaranth also produce edible leaves and grains. Did you know that you can also pop amaranth seeds to use in granola??

Come check out our amaranth selection at this weekend!

Wildflower Wednesday, bouquet edition 💐

Collected a few wild blooms that popped up in our lawn after a rainy week! Sometimes the best ones are the ones you almost mow over 🌼

tiny bee butts, big purpose 🐝🍑

Every native plant and pollinator garden creates a small piece of habitat for these little workers. These little moments of sleepy bees in blooms, pollen-covered legs, and bee butts sticking out are signs that the ecosystem is working!

Our mission is to grow more native plants, more nectar sources, and spaces for pollinators to rest, feed, and survive.

Happy World Bee Day to the tiny workers behind so much life around us 🌼🖤
