Thank you to everyone who came out to see us at the farmers market today! It’s always so wonderful seeing familiar faces from the farmstand and hearing how much you all love our products. It truly means more to us than you know!

While this may have been our last regular season market, we’re hopeful we’ll see you again at the holiday market in November!

We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on this fall and winter, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you all again next spring! 🌱

🤎 A LITTLE HOMESTEAD UPDATE 🤎

After many long talks about what we want for the future of our homestead, we’ve decided that October 17th will be our last regular Chandler Farmers Market for the season, and our farmstand will close for the season after that as well. We still plan to attend the November Holiday Chandler Farmers Market, weather permitting!

But this isn’t goodbye, it’s a see you in the spring🌱🌻

Broken Mill Homestead has grown so much faster than we ever imagined, and while we are incredibly grateful for that growth, we’ve realized it’s time to slow down and make some adjustments. Between the farmstand, homestead, and both of us working our regular 9-to-5 jobs, we have some processes to fine-tune to make things more manageable. We also need time to prepare our garden beds for winter and start clearing space for all the things we hope to grow next spring!

We are so incredibly blessed by the love and support our community has shown us. Meeting everyone at the farmers market and sharing our little homestead with you has meant more than you know. Thank you for being part of this journey with us! 🤎

We’ll still be sharing updates and little glimpses of what’s happening around the homestead, and we have so many things we’re excited to work on behind the scenes.

For now, we’re looking forward to seeing you at our final regular market on October 17th, soaking up some much-needed time with friends and family, and coming back in the spring refreshed and ready for a new season!

This isn’t the end, just a little time to reset, regroup, and make room for what’s next.

Where have we been this weekend? 🤎

Nathan and I had the opportunity to travel to Missouri for the National Heirloom Expo at Baker Creek Seed Company, and it was such an amazing weekend!

We spent the weekend learning new gardening tricks, discovering new seed varieties, stocking up on medicinal herbs, and gathering lots of inspiration for the future of Broken Mill.

I especially stocked up on floral seeds because I’d love to start offering cut flowers next year, and I’m already making plans to expand our herb garden so we can offer our own tea blends next season.

We also got to slow down and enjoy a relaxing weekend in a beautiful little silo cabin and really take some time to think about what we’re building here and where we want to take it.

It was a weekend full of learning, dreaming, and planning and we came home even more excited for what’s ahead. 🤎

The mornings have been feeling like fall this week, and I am absolutely loving it! There’s just something about that crisp morning air that makes me want to fill the kitchen with the smell of apples, cinnamon, and all the cozy spices of fall.

Our homemade apple pie filling is packed with tender apples and warm fall spices, making it perfect for pies, cobblers, crisps, or spooned warm over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 🤎
