Now that we have the rest of the shower installed, you can really see the difference between the old fiberglass unit and the new shower. Looking at the old fiberglass unit, each ledge leaves more and more wasted space behind the shower, and gives you less standing room. But with the new shower, the walls go straight down, maximizing your standing room. It makes a huge difference!

With the demolition complete, you can see the water supply line actually runs a few inches in front of the studs. In a modern bathroom, this gets in the way of the tub/shower. But with an old fiberglass unit, there’s a ton of unused space between the unit and the walls.

Their new shower is going to take advantage of all of that unused space, and it’s going to feel so much more spacious and luxurious!

On this flooring job, we already removed the existing floor, and we’re prepping to install new tile. The gray backer board is ideal for tile since it’s moisture and mold resistant, and it doesn’t expand and contract with humidity and temperature like most wood subfloors do. The new tub is a bright white, and the flooring has bits of white in the marble pattern. You can see how it really brightens up the space and makes it look fresh! This customer really wanted their tub to be more functional, so we added a few important details. 1 - More shelf space is a must, so we added a recessed shelf in the back wall. 2 – Adding a grab bar against the back wall at an angle makes it easier for them to get up and down in the tub. Plus, having an extra long grab bar means they can reach it from anywhere, making the wet area significantly safer. 3 – The adjustable handheld showerhead makes it much more functional!
