A member of our village needs our help. ❤️
She is a friend of mine, someone who has been to our groups over the years, and someone who is used to doing things on her own. She is also someone who takes care of and shows up for so many people in our community. Right now, she needs us to show up for her.
Her kiddo survived a su***de attempt, and they need us to show up as their village. It is an absolute honor to be able to surround them with love and practical support during this.
It is an honor to show up with food for this family now rather than bringing food after a funeral!
Tonight, I was able to get them pizza for dinner, juice, and their favorite candy as a little treat. We also got gas in her tank to help get her through the week. She isn't able to work right now, so we're helping take some of those everyday needs off her plate.
This week, our village is going to show up with meals, school snacks, fruits and vegetables, breakfast foods, and whatever else we can do to make things just a little easier.
Here are some things they could use:
🥣 School snacks: granola bars, cereal bars, chips
🍌 Bananas
🍎 Apples
🥦 Fresh broccoli
🥕 Ranch
🥞 Frozen pancakes
🥚 Eggs
☕ Coffee creamer — pumpkin spice!
🍽️ Dinners — nothing spicy (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We’ll reevaluate after)
💳 Gift cards for them to buy dinner if you want to contribute but don’t want to cook!
She was honestly embarrassed to give me dinner ideas because she isn't used to asking for or receiving help.
So let's show her what it looks like when a village steps up. ❤️
📍Bring the items to 1280 Industrial Ave. Suite 103 in Craig (our office) between 3:30 and 5:30 on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. I’ll take dinner to them each night. I don’t want to bombard them with visitors so it’s easier if I just take it to them after the Giving Corner closes.
If you're interested in helping with a meal, groceries, snacks, or another need, comment below or send me a private message so I can keep track of who is bringing what and make sure we don't overwhelm them with duplicates.
We don't wait until tragedy has taken someone from us to surround families with love. We show up while they're here. We help carry the load when it gets too heavy. We remind them that they don't have to do it alone.
We are blessed to be a blessing, and I am so grateful that our village is able to help this family through a really hard week.
