🚨 HOMEOWNERS, READ THIS BEFORE YOU REPLACE YOUR GARAGE DOOR!
Had a call yesterday that honestly fired me up a little.
A homeowner in McKinney called us for a second opinion. Her garage door wouldn't open, and another company had already been out and told her she needed a brand new door AND a new opener. Their quote? $4,800.
So I went out and took a look.
The door was fine. The opener was fine.
What actually happened? A broken torsion spring. That's it. Springs wear out over time. It's normal, it's common, and it's usually a same-day fix.
We replaced both springs (always do them in pairs), lubed everything up, adjusted the limits, and ran a full safety check on the sensors and auto-reverse.
Our price? $797.
That's a difference of over $4,000.
Now look, I'm not saying every company that quotes high is out to get you. Sometimes a door really is shot and needs replacing. We tell people that too when it's true.
But nobody explained to her what was actually broken. They just handed her a replacement estimate.
Here's what I want every homeowner to take away from this:
A door that won't open does NOT automatically mean you need a new door.
Ask what's broken. Ask to see it. Get a second opinion before you spend thousands.
At Premium Garage Door Repair, we're locally owned right here in Collin County, and we'd rather fix what you have than sell you what you don't need.
If we can repair it, we'll tell you. If it needs replacing, we'll show you why.
Before you sign that big replacement quote, give us a call. One more phone call might save you a whole lot of money. 🔧
