Backyard Flower Pot

Backyard Flower Pot Welcome to Backyard Flower Pot! Passionate about quality, sustainability, and beauty - thank you for supporting local!

I'm a small backyard grower of native plants, perennials, cut flowers, fresh fruits, veggies, herbs, and handmade natural products. I'm a retired professional turned homeschooling mama with a deep love for nature. My passion for gardening began in my teens, but I didn't start growing plants myself until my early 20's. After having my first child, I dove head first into growing herbs to create natural soaps, teas, and cleaning products - a craft I've been perfecting for over 15 years. I now grow a wide variety of plants to create herbal tinctures, oil infusions, skincare products, cleaning products, and teas. I also enjoy experimenting with fermented foods, like water kefir, kombucha, and my favorite creation: pine needle soda! At home, we compost, recycle, and run a thriving worm farm to minimize waste. My gardens are herbicide and pesticide free, grown following organic practices, and enriched with homemade compost. I'm deeply passionate about native plants, habitat restoration, and connectioning people with sustainable living and locally grown plants, flowers, and produce. What started as a personal hobby has blossomed into a rewarding new career and small business. My mission is to help my community access native plants, fresh produce, and affordable options for their yards, gardens, and tables. Thank you for supporting small growers and local businesses!

Well, today is a first for me. I had to cancel on an event.

I’ve been fighting off a cold for most of the week, and today seems to be the day it finally arrived. I still showed up to the event, but simply walking inside to find my assigned space made me feel lightheaded - and then there’s the cough.

I asked if perhaps there was an outdoor space I could take instead, so I wouldnt be spreading my germs n a confined indoor space, but unfortunately there was not.

So I headed home… and had myself a good cry during the drive. Such a flood of emotions… being sick, run down, dealing with one of my kiddos in the hospital again, and having to cancel in an event. And that is not me! This was the first event I have ever had to cancel - and I feel AWFUL about it.

And then there’s all the pet-related ceramics I have made over the past couple weeks in preparation of this event. Magnets, trinket trays … spooky stuff… so much stuff. And all the flower bouquets I harvested and made for the event. So much time, work, and money spent only to have to cancel.

I think im going to go have another little cry now.

Anyway, there are a ton of flower bouquets on the stand now.

You can disregard the $12 sign - they are $10 until sold out. This will likely be the last of the bouquets for the season (unless you want a special order with imported blooms)

What a great night it was making dried flower pumpkins!

We had such a nice group of ladies, some who knew each other and some who did not.., but everyone had a great time, myself included!

Here’s a few pictures of the night.

And a big thank you to Charlotte at Willow TREE Baskets for allowing me to use her studio for this event!
