she is beauty, she is grace..this one🤍

I think what I love most is that we were able to incorporate so many architectural details, but it still feels calm. nothing is competing for your attention, it all feels like it just works together (although that’s really just the fruit of a lot of intentional decisions, HA!)

those dreamy stepped gables, the tall dormers, the glass entry way recessed a bit (inviting you in 😉) but keeping with simple massing..feels so good!!

in love with the way it came together!! elevated and a little charmer 🤍

you know when you walk into a really well-designed showroom and you’re wowed - or heck, even that one friend’s house who just has REALLY good taste, and everything just works??

but if you actually broke it down piece by piece, there’d probably be a few things where you’d think… hmm, I don’t know if I would’ve picked that specifically

the best spaces aren’t always made up of the prettiest or safest things individually. sometimes it’s the slightly weird light or the thing you probably would’ve scrolled right past online.

design is about seeing how all of those pieces are going to work together before the room even exists.

so I pulled a few fixtures I have been eyeing - the kind you might not immediately save from the product photo, and then put them into spaces so you can see the vision!

because that funky pendant that looked a little questionable floating on a white background online suddenly makes sense with the wood paneling, the vintage chair, the right stone, the wallpaper...

and then you’re like ohhhh okay, yes love that.

so maybe the takeaway here is to leave a little room for your designer to show you something you wouldn’t have chosen on your own.

you might not have picked every piece individually if it were up to you - but you might really love what they all become together!

give the weird light a chance 🤎

guysssss.

have you already watched the 2025 Martha Stewart show on netflix?? not much of a show watcher to be honest, but this one!!! I cannot get enough!!!

so this one’s my take on a Martha inspired home🤍

watching her make the most perfectly cooked egg, garden, host, make things from scratch…USING up her Bedford farm makes my design soul so happy!!

also makes me think of the mother + daughter duo who share a look into the makings of their dinner parties (if you don’t follow Our Table’s Company, GO!)

because truthfully all these little things that on their own can be so ordinary, are the same things that have the potential to make up a really beautiful life - for you and those around you!!

designing a home, to me, is just that!! its like creating the experience of a dinner party but for your life! when planning a dinner party we think of ‘ok! let’s have the drinks by the door so everyone feels welcome and immediately gets into it!’ and ‘lets set out place cards so they feel special’ - when designing a home, it’s for you!! you ARE the guest of honor in your home!!😙

so let’s think about how we can make you pick up gardening again so there’s a fresh pot of flowers on the table! or how we can create a gym that you look forward to working out in! or a kitchen your family loves to cook in, with well crafted materials that aren’t too precious to use (more fun memories, less stressing lol)

how much better is life when you actually care about the little things? and how much better is your home when I do, hehe :)

love hearing about a good vacation spot, for personal reasons, hehe but also I’ve found its such (!!!) a good way of getting to know what you reeeeally love. something you might not have even realized you loved!

we often get caught up in the technicalities, how many bedrooms / bathrooms, architectural style, etc. but a home has the potential to serve you in soooo many more ways!!

maybe its the spa-like feel in the bathroom? maybe its the materials that were around you? maybe its the breakfast experience?? ok! lets figure out how we can set you up to have that experience in your daily life!

also love hearing what you hope life looks like here - do you hope it’s fun and everyone is over constantly? do you hope it’s peaceful + quiet? do you hope it feels invigorated and inspired and that you’ll do more gardening? do you hope you’ll cook at home more or actually use that front porch?

the fun part isn’t just figuring out where the rooms go. it’s figuring out how the house can make more room for the life you’re excited to live in it.

ok don’t get me wrong I loveeee a cozy kitchen! but something about this one just pulled at my heart strings.

feels almost industrial but not the typical feel. loving this big range, open shelving, simplicity in materials - but then that glossy tile keeps it feeling fresh instead of heavy! 🤌🏼

still keeping in those warm woods + exposed structure throughout, but also incorporating clean lines so it feels lived in but with a bit of a modern edge 🤍

this one was really all about the experience !!

instead of trying to make the front elevation do all the talking, we used the architecture, courtyards, and little moments of compression + reveal to make the whole property feel a little more private and discovered.

you catch some stunning (!!!) glimpses of the home from the street, then come through the entry gate and into this charming, serene courtyard moment. the porte-cochère sits off to the side + the guest house helps create that sense of enclosure at the front, keeping all of the more public spaces forward facing, and then the home keeps unfolding behind it.

I loveeee when you can’t see the whole house at once. it really turns the home into an experience (a little bit of, ‘wait, there’s more back there??’) and each space really gets to have its own moment.

the goal was something that feels grand and special when you arrive, but still feels quiet and private. basically making the architecture do a little more work for us than just looking pretty..although we love that too :)

if you’re designing a home, my best advice is to choose a designer who knows what questions to ask and that you enjoy being with!

because most people can tell you what rooms they need. they can tell you they want 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a big kitchen, a pool, maybe a study… and they probably have a pretty good idea of how many square feet they think they need.

but what if the conversation goes a little further?

that’s where I think a designer can really add value. truly getting to know you and knowing how to keep asking until we uncover what the house could do for you that you hadn’t even thought to ask for.

because there is so much more to gain from your home than simply figuring out where the rooms go.

let’s open the door to all of it. and make it look even better than you dreamed of while we’re at it. :)
