Why Base Preparation Matters

When people look at a beautiful patio, driveway, or walkway, they usually notice the pavers.

We notice what's underneath them.

The truth is, the most important part of any hardscape is the part you'll never see once the project is finished.

A properly prepared base is what allows a patio to stay level, a driveway to support heavy vehicles, and a walkway to withstand years of rain, frost, and everyday use. When corners are cut below the surface, the results eventually show above it through settling, movement, cracks, and costly repairs.

That's why we believe quality isn't just about choosing beautiful materials. It's about taking the time to build the foundation correctly.

At Dilts Landscaping we don't rush the work that no one will ever see, because we know it's what determines how your project will perform for years to come.

We hope this lesson helps you better understand why base preparation matters, whether you're planning your own project, comparing contractors, or simply curious about how quality landscapes are built.

Knowledge Grows Great Landscapes.
