The dynamic mother daughter duo Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak founded Two Chicks and a Hammer in Indianapolis, Indiana. The business began in 2007 when Mina decided that she wanted to buy a home and found one that needed a lot of work. She enlisted her mom, Karen, as a financial backer and someone who could help with the demolition and rebuilding. Mina taught herself how to draw floor plans, install tile, put down hardwood floors, and install cabinets. After one home they were hooked, and the adventure has continued ever since. Since their start, they have bought and renovated over 90 homes in the Fountain Square, Bates-Hendricks, and Old South Side areas. With Karen now retired from the business side of things, Mina is running the business with the help of her team! We are currently filming Season Seven!
