Ring, ring .. who’s there? ☎️
Your crawlspace is calling.

When cold conditioned air moves through ductwork in a warm, humid crawlspace, inadequately sealed or insulated ducts can develop condensation. That moisture can affect nearby materials, including the subfloor, and create conditions favorable for microbial growth.

Finding growth is only part of the investigation. Finding the moisture source is key. 🔦

Not the NEW build… 😬🏃‍♂️💨

New construction doesn’t automatically mean a clean slate.

Building materials can be exposed to rain and moisture during storage and throughout construction. And with many of today’s wood and engineered wood products, how those materials are stored, dried, and protected matters.
Take a closer look at this new build. 👀 There are already areas of dark discoloration, including along the lower portions of the materials.
Is it moisture related? Microbial growth? Something else entirely? A photo alone can’t answer that. But it’s certainly something I’d investigate.
The important part? Don’t assume “new” means there can’t already be moisture concerns.

Sometimes a different light can help guide where we look next.

This was found tucked away in a pantry, right alongside stored food. Under UV light, the extent of the affected area became much easier to visualize. Further investigation and laboratory testing confirmed Aspergillus in the sampled material.

UV doesn’t identify mold on its own. But it can be another useful tool in the toolbox when investigating what may be happening in a home.

Watching Quality Indoor Solutions grow has been such an exciting experience. 🌿

A new website, new ways for clients to connect and schedule, and now these beautiful new business cards have officially arrived.

There are so many little pieces that go into building a business, and lately I’ve been getting to watch those pieces come together one by one.

I’m incredibly excited about where QIS is headed and even more grateful for every person who has supported, shared, referred, followed, or trusted me along the way.

Something I don’t think we talk about enough in business is knowing when it’s okay to walk away.

Not every professional relationship, partnership, or contract is going to remain a good fit—and that doesn’t necessarily mean anyone has to be the villain.

Sometimes values no longer align. Sometimes communication stops being productive. Sometimes you find yourself being asked to operate in ways that don’t sit right with you. And sometimes, as your own business grows, you realize you need to protect the standards you’ve worked hard to build.

There can be a lot of pressure to keep the peace, maintain the relationship, or stay quiet because walking away feels uncomfortable.

But protecting your professional integrity matters.

It’s okay to say, “This isn’t a good fit for me anymore.”

It’s okay to disagree with how something is being handled.

It’s okay to set boundaries around what you will and won’t put your name behind.

And it’s okay to choose a different direction—even when that choice is difficult.

Owning a business isn’t only about learning how to build relationships. Sometimes it’s also about learning when a relationship no longer belongs in the future you’re building.

You can wish people well and still choose a different path.

At the end of the day, I want to be able to stand behind my work, my decisions, and the name attached to my company. That kind of integrity is worth protecting.
