Definitely not.

We’re a whole family of readers. These clips don’t show the books in the girls’ rooms.

When people ask me how I get them to read…it started when they were little. We read to them all the time, then we listened to them read to us. I took them to the library and book stores, especially during the summer. When they asked what I was reading, I described the plot (in an age-appropriate way).

And finally, they see my husband and I reading. They see us excited to go to the bookstore/library. They see that it’s a part of normal daily life.

They can’t imagine a life without books, because they’ve never lived it.

What a blessing ❤️

Aloha Friday is here and the sun is shining 💛

This week on the blog, I posted about the Hanauma Bay Ridge hike.

Technically speaking, it’s a very easy paved trail (at least the ridge is, we didn’t get off the paved trail). However, it’s a very long uphill walk, with no shade 🥵

The views of the bay are beside you as you ascend to the top, with views of East Honolulu to your right, Koko Head looms behind you, and you can see the spectacular Diamond Head crater as you near the top. It’s worth every uphill step 😍

The packers/movers are here today! And we are in the middle of our PCS out of Hawaii. Saying goodbye to nearly everything you own for an unknown amount of time is overwhelming.

This was the timeline when we moved here. Let’s see what it looks like moving off the island 😵‍💫
