Well, that didn’t exactly go according to plan. 😂🌧️
Yesterday was supposed to be a BIG day for Lovinity. Months of preparation, a new booth, a banner I’d wanted for YEARS, and over 100 handmade candles. I was proud. Really proud.
Then Mother Nature showed up with some unresolved issues with small businesses. 😂 Canopies lifted, products fell, and rain poured.
I’m a single mom on one income. No big budget or team behind Lovinity. Just my two hands and a dream I’ve refused to put down.
So yesterday hurt. A lot. I cried the exhausted, overwhelmed kind of cry. After preparing until 3 a.m., I could barely think straight.
The people. My goodness, the people. ❤️
Emily was beside me through it all, working her tail off. I couldn’t be prouder. My mom and son visited too, thankfully leaving before the storm.
I’ve spent much of my life figuring things out on my own. And somewhere along the way, I’ve made some incredibly special adult friendships.
They have full lives of their own. Yet they make time. They show up because they want to.
They choose me.
I can’t explain how much that means.
Yesterday, when I couldn’t hold everything together, others helped hold things together for me. Friends, customers, vendors, and strangers held down my canopy, rescued products, and helped me pack. Even people who owed me nothing.
People showing up for people.
That’s why I started Lovinity: to bring a little laughter, kindness, comfort, and light into someone’s day. Yesterday, when I needed that light, people gave it right back to me.
The financial loss is real. So is my gratitude. To everyone who showed up, thank you.
I’ve been working so hard to build something meaningful, and somewhere along the way, I’ve built a life filled with people who genuinely care about me.
The love I felt yesterday? That part was bigger than the storm. 🧡
Wellness Begins with Light.
And sometimes that light comes from the people standing beside you. ☀️
