“Look at all this storage!”
That was the homeowner’s reaction when I visited today, and honestly, that’s what great kitchen design is all about!
This home had a very small, closed-in kitchen. By removing a load-bearing wall, we were able to completely open up the space and create a kitchen that feels entirely different.
Look at what we were able to accomplish:
✨ A large island with room to gather
✨ A beautiful appliance wall
✨ A centered range and oven with a stainless steel decorative hood
✨ Added pantry storage
✨ So many drawers for heavy pots, pans, and all the things a family needs
✨ A timeless combination of gray and white cabinetry
And the transformation didn’t stop at the kitchen. The quartzite stone was also carried onto the fireplace wall, creating a beautiful connection between the spaces.
The home has enormous windows overlooking the woods, bringing the beauty of the outdoors right inside.
But my favorite part? She told me her family came to see the finished project, and their mouths dropped open! It had been decades since the home had seen a transformation like this.
Now she has the beauty, functionality, and storage she’s been wanting.
That’s what thoughtful design can do. It’s not just about making a kitchen pretty. It’s about changing how a home feels and how a family lives in it.
And that makes it all worthwhile! ❤️
