So, this one’s been sitting in the “She Shed” for a couple of weeks now. Lots of inquiries, but no sale as of yet. It’s listed for $295. Great value as far as I’m concerned. It’s small (42” long”), and cost me $10, so not a bad profit margin.
Today, I had a lady reach out and offer $200. I told her I couldn’t go below $250. She said she could be to my place in 15 minutes just to look at it. She got here and started taking about the $200 again. I told her I just turned someone down trying to offer me $230 and that I needed to stick with the $250 as my absolute bottom price.
I texted my husband and told him to come out to the garage because I thought she might be trying to pull a fast one. Sure enough, she starts clearing out her hatchback trying to make room for it before we’ve settled on a price. She starts trying to get us to help her load it in. I said, “So you’re good with the $250?” She suddenly got belligerent. “You said $230!!! It’s probably too small for my place. I’m gonna have to sell it if it doesn’t work!”
I told her calmly that I said no such thing. She made a whole big scene. Greg stepped in at that moment and let her know that if $20 was such a challenge for her, she could see herself home. She railed and ranted at us as she made her way back to her car.
There are hustlers all over. The game is getting a little easier to recognize.
