Calico Gardens Calico Gardens is a greenhouse-nursery and diversified small farm located in Lowell, Michigan.

We grow and carry a wide range of cactus, succulents, rare plants, tropical plants, fresh mushrooms, and seasonal produce.

It's official! We will have a 3 full sized tables setup at JungleCon in grand rapids on 9/27/26 from 10:00 am-4:00 pm.

We have finally begun construction on our 4 season production greenhouse!!

This is the first and largest of 3 planned heated greenhouses for the farm. Once operational this greenhouse will be the home of our cactus, succulents and other non cold hardy perennials as they make their way through the cold Michigan winter!

Huge shout-out to Rob for the site work and building help as well as everyone that has shown up to help build in 100+ degree heat indexes. We are low on labor this season and having the extra hands and expertise on deck has taken this expansion from a possibility to reality!

If all goes to plan we should have the building up and ready to move plants into it in short order😎

Our first round of tomatoes are coming up strong and healthy!

We use High powered LED grow lights to start our tomatoes inside, this gives the plants a chance to develop under low stress conditions before gradually being hardened off outdoors to field conditions. The use of grow lights also allows us to start slower growing plants indoors when it's still snowy outside. This way they can be well established for your gardens to make use of the extra short summer we have in Michigan 😎

In about 2 weeks ~400 of these are headed into the field for our mid summer through fall markets. We will have the rest available for sale to anyone interested in planting some very tasty tomatoes in their garden!
