The hood might be our favorite part of this Cochrans Crossing kitchen.

Curved, with brass banding, set against one big slab of stone. Add warm wide-plank floors and a breakfast nook that catches the light, and it’s the kind of kitchen where everyone ends up hanging out.

Bonus: the toe-kick lighting. It makes the whole kitchen glow at night.

Once these doors fold all the way open, the living room and the patio are basically one room.

We are ready for Houston weather to cooperate so this wall of glass can stay open more often than not. Built for the exact moment fall finally shows up.

This wall of cabinets is hiding more than you’d think.

Behind these doors: an appliance garage with the microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and mugs, plus a pull out pantry with sliding drawers for snacks and pantry basics. Closed, it all reads like ordinary cabinetry. No clutter, no visible appliances, all the function still there.
