At the recent San Francisco Design Center Day of Education and Inspiration, I loved hearing S E A N L E F F E R S speak about the craftsmanship and Japanese history behind his textile collection.
His collection draws on theater costumes and family crests, translating those references into cloth for contemporary interiors.
His designs are gorgeous, and the care behind them is just as striking. Some fabrics take months to make.
Sean spoke with such reverence for the cultural histories behind the textiles and the traditions that continue through their making. His thoughtful, meticulous approach makes this a compelling collection.
I left imagining so many of these pieces in a future project. It’s special when a textile brings its own history into a room and gives me another way to create spaces with meaning for my clients.
