A haunted house but make it … Design & Build edition

Cedar Haven is here. 🤍

It doesn’t feel like a new renovation, but it functions like one. We opened up the main level for a growing Lake Norman family, removing walls and raising floor height to connect the kitchen, dining, and living spaces and bring the lake view to center stage. The result is a connected space filled with natural light that feels as if it’s always been that way.

Swipe for the first look into the kitchen, scullery, powder bath, and laundry room. Living spaces coming next week!

A peak into our Cedar Haven Project. A main-level renovation designed and built for a growing Lake Norman family with an organic, collected feel and made for everyday life. We can’t wait to share more of this project with you soon!

This client came to us with a small, dated primary bath that just wasn’t earning its keep. Everyday day started and ended in a space that didn’t feel like theirs. Our brief: transform the everyday into a retreat they’d actually look forward to within the same footprint.

We added built-in shelving for extra storage and styling, paired with a freestanding soaking tub tucked beneath the window, a custom oak vanity with brushed brass hardware, and a marble-clad shower and floor that turns ordinary morning routines into a luxury experience that’s worth slowing down for. Layered brass lighting, curated shelf styling, and soft linen curtains bring in warmth without sacrificing an inch of function.

Small footprint, big transformation. This is what happens when interior design & construction live under one roof. See before photos in stories 🤍

We know we’re a little extra and we’re okay with that because normal was never the goal anyway.

We don’t stop until you’re sitting on your sofa, in your fully finished and styled home wondering why you ever thought it had to be harder than this.

To every momma who creates warmth and belonging — we see you. You are the true heart of the home. Happy Mother’s Day from the Freshwater team 🤍

Big news for North Carolina. 🇺🇸

President Trump just announced plans to bring furniture manufacturing back to NC — making it the furniture capital of the world once again.

And honestly? We couldn’t be more proud.

But here’s what we want you to know: you don’t have to wait. North Carolina and American furniture makers are already here, already building, and already making some of the most beautiful, durable, and comfortable furniture available anywhere. You just won’t find it at a big box chain store.

At Freshwater, we’ve been sourcing from US manufacturers and local artisans all along — pieces that are more comfortable, more customizable, and built to last. And in many cases at a comparable price point.
Every time you skip the chain store and shop local, you’re supporting two things at once — an American maker and a local business.

One of the reasons that we opened is to make these pieces available to everyone. If you haven’t been in, come feel the difference. If you’ve already purchased from us — you already know. 🤍
Thank you for your support. It means everything.

Unpopular opinion: Not every project is a Freshwater project.

We work with homeowners in the Lake Norman area who are ready to stop managing the process and start living in their dream home. Design. Build. Furnished. Done.

We only open a handful of spots each year. If you’ve been thinking about it — now is the time!
