Welp… this is a little backwards...

I have to CLOSE the shop tomorrow. And strangely enough, that might be one of the biggest blessings I’ve gotten to post about.

This past week at Rusty Sugar was record breaking—above and beyond anything I had imagined, planned for, or honestly felt prepared for. You all shopped me right into needing a minute to regroup, restock, hunt down some new goodies and figure out what in the world just happened.

So Rusty Sugar will be closed Tuesday and will REOPEN WEDNESDAY with things restocked, refreshed and some NEW goodies tucked in!

This weekend was just plain ol' good for the soul type FUN...

I saw friends I haven't seen in forever, old classmates, so many familiar local faces, and some of my favorite returning visitors. There is something incredibly special about someone coming back to Nashville and telling me, “We had to come back to your shop.”

And the locals… goodness. I've developed such a fun little bond with so many of you. You stop in, check on me, see what's new, make me laugh and continue supporting this weird little dream of mine.

Add in Nashville Nights, all the activity in the Antique Alley courtyard, and watching people wander through the Alley enjoying themselves…it was just one of those weekends that reminded me why I love doing this. I don't take any of it for granted.

There have been plenty of moments along the way when I've wondered whether this little shop would work. And now I'm temporarily closing because you bought too much stuff. God surely has a sense of humor. 😂

What an abundant, unexpected blessing.

Thank you for supporting Rusty Sugar. Thank you for coming back. Thank you for telling your friends. Thank you for wandering a little off the beaten path into Antique Alley and allowing me to keep waking up and doing something I genuinely love every day.

I was out running errands this afternoon, picked up some candle inventory and made a random decision to run in to a little shop on the outskirts of town. I browsed around, grabbed a few items and as I was waiting to check out...there she was.

I almost missed her. She was tucked behind some odd things that nearly covered her completely. I caught glimpse of her eyes and the corner of the ornate frame and knew it had to come with me.

I don't know what it is yet about it... but she spoke to me. I'm super excited to create a display inspired around this art piece. She's a beauty!

Man oh Man... today was a productive day in the shop!!

Peyton and I put in a WHOLE lot of , we reset some areas, I jabbed a floral pick into my eye (not even sure how), dropped product on top of my foot (I was in socks! Yes, lesson learned. Maybe.), knocked a few shelves over, laughed with visitors in the shop, danced to 90s pop music, sat outside in the courtyard of Antique Alley and just enjoyed the beautiful day.

The next few days are going to remain gorgeous - come hang out with us! Nashville Nights continues this Saturday too and we will be open until 8pm.

FRIENDS!!! IT'S OCTOBER!

It’s officially here — the month we wait for ALL YEAR in Brown County.

For the month of October, Rusty Sugar is officially OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK! The shop is filling up with fall favorites, vintage treasures, Black Label goodies, art & prints, faith-inspired gifts, woodland cuteness, quirky finds, new gift ideas and all those little things you absolutely did not come looking for… but somehow need. And trust me — there’s still more coming.

🌙 Nashville Nights are back every Saturday in October, which means we’ll be staying open until 8PM on Saturdays! Come wander Antique Alley after dark, shop, eat, listen to music and enjoy one of the best times of the year in Nashville.

This is the third fall season at Rusty Sugar, and there’s something pretty special about standing at the beginning of October knowing how much this little shop has grown since that first fall.

Every person who has wandered off the beaten path and found us in Antique Alley… every person who came back… every person who told a friend, shared a post or brought someone new with them — you've helped build this. ((HUG)), thank you!

October is incredibly important to small businesses in Brown County, and we're excited, stocked up and ready to see what this season brings.

The pumpkins are out.
The shelves are full.
The new hours are posted.
The coffee consumption is about to become questionable. ☕ 😂
