On September 21, 2018, Broken Compass Woodworking was born. Eight years ago, I began woodworking full-time. And Brown Made Media was kind enough to make me this video. A lot has changed since then. I started my woodworking venture in a basement making a some desks for some friends. Then a two car garage, then an old barn, now an actual building , and hopefully next is a warehouse. Broken Compass Woodworking started out of necessity to tame my mind and create an outlet to keep me on this side of the dirt. It became so much more. It became a way to create awareness around mental health, specifically ADHD. It became a platform to let other people know that they weren’t alone in their struggles. I know that I’m the face on the camera often but I’ve had so much help and support along the way. My employees, past and present. Designers, contractors, clients, books keepers, accountants, family and friends are the true heart beat behind this brand. my dog Wyatt is the real MVP. But you all are great too 😘THANK YOU. For hiring me, working for me, with me, trusting me, being patient with me, letting me rest, pushing me, calling me out, listening to me, hearing me and seeing me. You have literally provided me with the means to cultivate a career worth having. A reason to keep going. I’m still a Broken Compass. But I do not walk alone.
