Johnny Products

Johnny Products Rugged front-end loaders for lawn & garden tractors. Built in the USA, fits 100+ models, trusted since 2001 Just what is a Johnny Bucket? That's $14,000 total.

A Johnny Bucket is a radical new front end loader design that enables a home owner with their own lawn or garden tractor to transport material from a pile to all over the yard without the hassles of renting or owning a conventional loader . Why don't I just rent a skid steer loader to do the same job? In some cases a skid steer type loader is the only answer for your needs, but lets face it, most of time "the common man" only needs to transport material from point A to point B not to load trailers and dump trucks at their houses. The garden supply centers only needs this loading capability. Skid steer loaders are very heavy, destructive and dangerous to operate. These types of loaders weigh on the average of 3 tons (6000 lbs.). When driving them over edges of asphalt, they can crack and do permanent damage to your driveway. While driving them on your lawn, they can cause soil compaction and even rip it up because of skid steering. A skid steer loader requires allot of skill to operate and can oscillate wildly out of control. Why not use something your very familiar with like you very own lawn and garden tractor. Would you use a sledge hammer to swat a fly? No of course not, that is why the Johnny Bucket's light weight and easy hookup makes it right for "you", the "common man with the common yard"

You can own a Johnny Bucket for about the price as renting a skid steer loader. A skid steer loader's rental fee can cost up to $400 for just one Saturday and most times you have to borrow or rent a truck to haul it to your house. For a little over twice that money, you can own a Johnny Bucket for not just one Saturday but a lifetime of Saturdays and never have to return it!!. Are you still not convinced the Johnny Bucket is right for you? Stop by the Testimonials and see what Johnny Bucket owners think of them. Why don't I just get a conventional loader attachment for my tractor? A conventional loader attachment can cost up to $4000 and the tractor that will handle it's weight is close to $10,000. With a conventional loader, they must be bolted on and can take hours to install. This commitment makes it impractical if you want to use your tractor for lawn mowing etc. In most cases the average home owner may just want to move mulch, dirt or gravel over the weekend. Time to shed that conventional loader PIPE DREAM! As children most of us played with TONKA™ trucks and loaders in our sand boxes scooping and dumping. This conditioned us to believe that the only kind of useful loader is a conventional one. I too had this same mind set and was skeptical when I built the first Johnny Bucket. Once I started using it around the yard, I soon realized that I never needed to load things, just move things around. I still am amazed every time I use mine on how handy these attachments really are.

Johnny Products Update!🔔 We’re Still Here

First off, I want to apologize for falling short on keeping the Johnny Products family in the loop these past few months.

To give a bit more context, we have always been a small company at most ever having 2 full time employees, and currently operated by only myself(Mitch). While I grew up working in the shop on my own hobbies, it wasn’t till a year and a half ago that I actually came on board full time to save and solidify the legacy, so Johnny’s great Products and revolutionary bucket can live on for many generations to come. My first order of business was creating a new website and generating sales, as the Forum Days were coming to end and with that the discovery traffic it once drove. After creating a new website we started to have a different problem, too many sales! It sounds great at first, but here was the problem:

WE DIDN’T OWN THE CAD!!

See, when my Dad Johnny started this business CAD was expensive(still can be) and had a huge learning curve. So instead he designed in Cardboard Aided Design instead, and then would bring those into a local CNC shop that at the time was more than happy to help. Over the years the designs were improved and the model list grew, and so did the CNC shop making the parts, just in a different direction aimed at servicing much larger businesses. This lead to the big issue: 3 month lead time from when I sent the parts order to when it arrived!! Nowadays companies like SendCutSend deliver in under a WEEK, but without the files from the previous manufacturer we were dead in the water. I tried negotiating the release of our files but came up unsuccessful which lead me to two options:

Reverse engineer Gen 1 which was last mechanically redesigned in 2006, or set off on a journey to imagine something completely new and unique. I chose the latter, and that is when the concept of Gen 2 was announced.

In setting off on this journey I had 3 Major goals:

• High lift as the new standard
• Lift capacity that matches machine capability
• Ease of install and removal

I’m happy to announce I have solved all 3!! (Individually, now working to combine them into a single easy to use product)

This was accomplished not by one large leap, but MANY small hops. In the beginning of Gen 2 development I made frequent updates to pre-sale buyers, but quickly learned that what I was showing off isn’t what you’d be getting, and it became a challenge to present something when I knew it was only a stepping stone to the next big finding/breakthrough. I stopped posting frequently and as time went on I’d get more emails looking for an update, but no final product to show for it.

That brings us to present day September 28th, which is farrr longer than I could have ever imagined it would take. At the same time though, I have arrived at a product that I never could have even imagined if I had accepted the first attempt at something new. It is only through failure that new knowledge can be found, and here’s just some of the designs that made it to real steel parts and had lessons either carried forward or removed depending how it improved the product.

Thank you all for your patience and support, especially the pre-sale buyers that have put their faith in Johnny Products as well myself to deliver the next generation of yard equipment!

(There will be more updates very soon, but want to let yall know I’m still alive and we are still pushing ahead)

The Next Generation of Johnny Products is all about implementing the latest technologies, both in the product itself as well as the tools that make the product.

This XTool MetalFab has been a complete game changer for prototyping, and will even be used in production, which was not possible with our previous plasma CNC

I was hopping to post a YouTube video today going over our second new big upgrade and answer some questions regarding Gen 2 but will save this for a longer video, later in the week

Happy Friday! This weekend I will be putting together a YouTube video showing the Gen 2 build progress, along with going behind the scenes a bit more about the history of Johnny Products, where we’re at now, and where we’re headed in the future.

We just finished welding over 50 Gen 2 Toothbars, and in the future will offer a Gen 1 version (different mounting location)

Will make another post here once the video is up

Oh and one more thing.
We DOUBLED the lift height.

The Gen 2 Johnny Bucket now lifts up to 30 inches. That's twice the height of the original. Two degrees of adjustment across the side arm length and arm angle let you dial it in to whatever your property demands.

Pre-Order opens 4/02/26 at 9am CST
