RHB FRIDAY FENG SHUI LIVING
Why Your Bedroom Shouldn’t Feel Like Your Office. If your bedroom is also your office, gym, storage room, and charging station, your mind may never receive a clear signal that the day is over.
Spaces teach us how to behave.
When possible, give the bedroom one dominant purpose: restoration.
Even in a small home, visual boundaries can help separate work from rest.
Feng Shui isn’t only about where furniture goes. It’s also about what you’re asking a room to do.
At RHB Feng Shui Living, we work with architects, interior designers, and spatial intelligence to create environments that support the mind, body, and spirit.

RHB - Interior designers - Give light more than one job
General lighting makes a room usable. It does not necessarily make every activity comfortable.
Consider the room in layers: light for moving through it, light for reading or working, and softer light for quieter hours. Then check each layer on its own. Can someone turn on a reading lamp without lighting the entire room? Does the room still feel welcoming in the evening?
Light shapes where people choose to sit and how long they want to stay. That makes it part of the room’s arrangement, not merely its finishing touch.
RHB Feng Shui Living collaborates with architects and interior designers to create lighting and furniture plans that support the way a room is used.
If this helps you think through a lighting plan, I invite you to like, share, and follow RHB Feng Shui Living.

RHB - Architects - Put storage where the routine happens
A home can have ample storage and still collect piles. The question is whether storage sits near the moment an item is used or put away.
Trace a normal day through the plan. Where does a bag land? Where are shoes removed? Where are charging devices needed? Then consider storage dimensions, doors, and access at those points. A cabinet that blocks circulation when opened may create a new problem while solving another.
In feng shui plan review, I pay attention to how daily movement and belongings affect the clarity of a space.
RHB Feng Shui Living collaborates with architects and interior designers to create storage that works with real routines and comfortable circulation.

RHB - General - SIMPLE TEST FOR A CALMER PALETTE
Gather the colors you can see from your favorite seat: upholstery, art, pillows, and the view outside. Is one accent much brighter or more saturated than everything around it? Your eye may keep returning to that spot.
Try repeating a softer version of that color elsewhere, or replacing the accent with one that has a similar lightness to the other colors in the room. You do not need everything to match. A considered relationship between colors can make the room feel more cohesive and peaceful.
RHB Feng Shui Living collaborates with architects and interior designers to create homes where color supports comfort and a sense of calm.

RHB - Interior designers - Give colors a shared visual weight
Two colors can be different and still feel at ease together. One way to build cohesion is to choose accents with a similar value, meaning they appear similarly light or dark, and then consider how their hues relate.
Complementary colors sit opposite one another on the color wheel. Used at full strength, they can feel lively. Used with restraint and similar softness, they can add balance without competing for attention. Against RHB’s black, white, and cream foundation, a small natural accent can bring life to the room while keeping the overall composition peaceful.
RHB Feng Shui Living collaborates with architects and interior designers to create palettes that feel layered, sophisticated, and suited to the room’s purpose.
If you find this color approach helpful, I invite you to like, share, and follow RHB Feng Shui Living.

RHB - Architects - Plan the color experience with the light
Color begins with the architecture. A cream wall beside a bright window may appear lighter than the same finish across the room. Before finalizing surfaces, study how daylight reaches each space and where shadow settles.
For a cohesive home, carry a consistent foundation through connected rooms. For example, Black can define architectural lines, while white and cream keep the spaces open. Natural accents can then respond to each room without making the home feel disconnected.
RHB Feng Shui Living collaborates with architects and interior designers to create connected spaces where light, surfaces, and color feel considered together.

RHB - Interior Designers - LISTEN TO THE ROOM
A room’s sound affects how comfortable it is to occupy. Hard
floors, large windows, and bare walls can make voices and
everyday noise feel sharper, even when the room looks serene.
Listen before styling. Does conversation carry? Does the space echo when it is quiet?
A rug, upholstered seating, and window treatments can help
soften sound. Choose them as part of the room’s material
composition so comfort and appearance develop together. In
feng shui, I consider how a room is experienced through the
senses, not only how its furniture is arranged.
RHB Feng Shui Living collaborates with architects and interior
designers to create interiors that feel calm, comfortable, and
complete in person.

RHB - General - CHANGE YOUR WORKING POSITION
Try this from the chair where you work most often: sit down and notice where the door is. If it is directly behind you, see whether you can turn the desk so you have a comfortable view of someone entering. Aim to see the door without sitting directly opposite it.
This is called the command position in Feng Shui. It is a way to consider how aware and settled you feel in a space. You do not need a large office to test it; even a small change in angle may help.
RHB Feng Shui Living collaborates with architects and interior
designers to create workspaces that fit both the room and the person using it.
If you know someone rethinking their workspace, I invite you
to like, share, and follow RHB Feng Shui Living.

RHB - FRIDAY FENG SHUI LIVING
The Room You Avoid May Be the Room to Fix First

Think about the room in your home that you use the least.
Now ask yourself why.
Is it dark? Too formal? Uncomfortable? Is the furniture arranged for how you thought you would
live rather than how you actually live?
We naturally gravitate toward spaces that support us and avoid spaces that don’t.
Instead of decorating the room again, start by understanding why you’re not using it.
I’m Rahbia Allen, and at RHB Feng Shui Living, we collaborate with architects, interior designers, and spatial
intelligence to create environments that support the mind, body, and spirit.

RHB - WEDNESDAY FOR INTERIOR DESIGNERS
Why Repetition Makes a Room Feel More Expensive
One reason beautifully designed rooms feel so cohesive is repetition.
A curve appears in a chair and again in a lamp. A bronze finish quietly repeats across the room.
A material introduced on one side appears somewhere else.
The repetition may be subtle, but your eye recognizes it.
Feng Shui seeks harmony. Interior design creates that harmony through relationships between
objects.
Nothing has to match.
It simply has to belong.
I’m Rahbia Allen, and at RHB Feng Shui Living, we collaborate with architects, interior designers to create environments that support the mind, body, and spirit.
