As we head into the weekend, it’s a good time for an important reminder about keeping your home and family safe.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Charge Into Fire Safety™. Safe Charging Is a Superpower.” It focuses on safer everyday habits when charging phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools, and other devices powered by lithium-ion batteries.

A few simple habits can make a difference:

🔌 Use the correct charger for your device.
🔥 Keep charging devices away from beds, couches, and other flammable materials.
⚠️ Stop using batteries that are damaged, swollen, or unusually hot.
🔋 Unplug devices once they’re fully charged when appropriate.

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe.
