A customer didn’t order their material so I started a project at my place. I’ve been wanting to do this for 28 years and have finally gotten around to it. The boss said I needed to get the house completed before I started the barn.

Here’s the finished tub from the bathroom I recently remodeled. April has done it again! The tub looks brand new. This is the third client of mine that has used her services and all of them have had nothing but great results. I highly recommend her if you’re are looking to have your tub or your whole tile surround glazed instead of replaced.

A long week with a lot of work to turn this bathroom around. I’m still waiting on the mirror to come in and April to come out and work her glazing magic on the tub. This bathroom needed all new plumbing, both drain and supply lines. It also needed new subfloor around the toilet area. I started demo last Tuesday and finished up this morning. This was the only bathroom in the house so I worked long days and the weekend to get it done. Luckily the homeowner was able to stay with his brother during this process. I’m ready for a couple days of r&r.

A nice 4 day job this week for a great family in Olmsted Falls. The homeowner told me that Bath Depot gave them a quote for the shower that started at $18,000!!! I can’t believe that number, and yet those are the companies advertising that there’s no installation costs or they’ll take $3,500 off if you sign up when they come to quote it. They weren’t even going to be installing tile! Folks do your homework and get multiple quotes before getting any work done. I did this for about a third of that price and that’s with materials.

Some before and afters of my most recent job in Middleburg Heights. These clients had the primary bathroom remodeled and then new floors installed in the kitchen and dining room.

A couple hours on the weekend to set myself up for paint and surround tile to start my week.

One week in and this job has been fighting me every step of the way. At least I’m to a point where I’ll only have to work a few hours each day this weekend to get it ready for paint on Monday. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend I know what I’ll be doing.

I don’t always take multiple days to demo but when I do it’s because it was built in the time of lathe and plaster. The tile floor and walls had an inch of mud on them behind the tile. I still have the whole shower to demo tomorrow. Along with cutting open the subfloor to remove the heater that was installed inside the tub cavity.

That’s a wrap in Olmsted Falls! From broken drain lines to homeowner electrical this bathroom had some surprises but that’s what you find when you start opening up walls.
