This dining room started with a simple plan: keep the client’s table and recover her chairs. It became a full makeover. I’m a big believer in keeping what works and but not at the cost of forcing pieces that no longer fit.
The new chairs, in metal and mohair, lean contemporary, so we balanced them with rich wood tones. The olive burl sideboard with marble hardware is a favorite of mine. A free-flowing linen art piece softens the room, and floor-length drapery finishes it. The walls are Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore , with the molding and wainscoting in Edgecomb Gray for interest that doesn’t try too hard.
Made for coming home to.
