A set of ceramic Space Tiles I created last fall for the Cluster Crafts exhibit in London. The tiles are triply periodic, meaning they are reconfigurable, and can grow in all directions. The design of the tiles represent different craft process, reinterpreted as delicate filigree. They are binder jet 3d prints, that are then sintered in an elaborate and dimensionally precise process. If you work in the 3D printing world long enough, you see how much of the space has shifted from creative applications into military industrial, and this is me trying to make something fragile with the tools. For the record, I don’t really code, and can’t say I craft much with my hands these days (other than drawings)

Huge thank you to Kathryn M. Sheldon for the photography (with support from kenzie king), as well as our partner Wuxi Chatour 3D for assisting with the production of the tiles

Excited to share our second collection for Maison 203 (and never shared the first!) Introducing Magna and Endos, part of an ongoing fixation with chains, braids, knots, and all things interlinking

Snips from show A comedy of mortals: paradiso” closing tomorrow. A year ago Tammy asked for a set of prints thinking about fractals, shells, flags of convenience and Timaeus 🧠 These prints are composed of deconstructed elements from national flags: celestial objects, plants, animals, tools, symbols and body parts. I tried to use this “flag grammar” to draw space, but really it turned into a bunch of fossils. Flags are weird & the things we do for them, weirder still.

This solstice, I’m celebrating 10 years since leaving a job in architecture to find my own path. So incredibly grateful to the friends, clients and creative community that have sustained me since, both in NYC and online. I am terrible at manifesting anything — all I know is a little fissure of creativity that yields a bit when pulled, until things fall out and collide with those around me. Really it’s an ocean that I’ll never fully explore or comprehend, and I am constantly overwhelmed by things I’d like to make, and I lean on collaborators to stay focused, grounded and fed. I dont think I’ve said no to a job or opportunity in those ten years (working on that), and am always willing to share whatever little wisdom I’ve gleaned along that journey with others. So, a little post sharing the randomness, hustle (and privilege!) of my journey so far 😵‍💫
