Meet Midge and Marge - our newest additions to the farm!
Did you know that pigs do an excellent job of tilling? Our blackberry patch got away from us the last 2 years so we decided to take it out and plan to do something else with that part of the garden next year.
But if you've ever grown blackberries, you know that's not an easy task! Their roots run deep and spread fast. That's where our new girls are going to help. They will spend the winter digging up blackberry roots and w**d seeds and uncovering pest eggs for the chickens to come behind them and enjoy. Work smarter not harder! 😉

Milking every morning and evening is a huge commitment and I'm super proud of our girls who continue to show up rain or shine, cold or miserable hot, day after day. I never have to wake them up or tell them it's time to go milk. They totally own it and do a fantastic job! They own their goats and every penny they make goes directly to their milk money stash. They have reinvested some of that money to buy more goats and soap making supplies.
I don't think we give kids enough credit these days. They are capable of doing so many awesome things!

Our delicious goat milk cold brew is back at the Main Street Mercantile!
We are also including our pastured eggs in our drops now! Our layers are in full laying mode and are cranking out a bunch of delicious eggs with golden yolks. These girls are fed an all organic feed but prefer to scratch and forage for their favorite seeds, bugs and grasses 🐛
We will be restocking the chicken once we get this last batch back from the processer. The baskets will be full on Friday!
And one last thing. We are needing our jars back from the goat milk so please return those for a $1 refund!! Thank you all so much for supporting local!! ❤️
