Like a lot of families these days, we’re raising our children, running a household, and trying to make every square foot of our home work better for us.
We needed a place that wasn’t just a desk.
We needed a place to organize lessons, pay bills, plan meals, print schoolwork, and keep life moving.
We looked for serval desk online and in store and nothing fit our needs or looks right in our space. So instead of buying something we wouldn’t love, we built it.
The entire desk was designed around the corner it sits in. Every measurement was chosen to fit the space. The shelves were sized for our needs and supplies. The style was built to feel like a piece of furniture, and not just another piece of office furniture.
What started as a pile of lumber became one of the most-used pieces in our home. And honestly, that’s what I enjoy building most.
Not mass-produced furniture.
Not cookie-cutter cabinets.
Pieces that look like they’ve always belonged in that space.
Mudrooms.
Entryway benches.
Built-in desks.
Hallway storage.
Bookshelves.
Entertainment centers.
Farmhouse tables.
The kind of projects that solve problems while making a home feel more like home.
So now I’m curious…
If you could have one custom piece built specifically for your house, what would it be?
A mudroom?
A built-in entertainment center?
A dining table made for family gatherings?
A desk that actually fits your space?
Drop it in the comments. I’d love to hear what project would make the biggest difference in your home.
