A big shout out to our newest sponsor of the Sandra Day O'connor High School Marching Band!
Mike our salesman did a great job in demonstrating how the windows would work and how much money you can save. But the kicker here is 2 windows upstairs that are sliders would not work like the other windows, you would have to literally take both windows out of the track to clean them. I made a complaint regarding this to Robert who says to me, mike probably didn’t remember or he didn’t know, but he’s been doing this over 30 years. I told him that’s still not right and then he had the audacity to say well at least you don’t have to climb a 20ft ladder. I still owed the other half of the check when windows were done. So after that remark I told him I’m tired of repeating myself to you that mike told us something different then what we were given and I said that he was a waste of my time and just before I was about to hang up he said take 200.00 off your bill. Robert is an Ass so I figure I’ll just agreed to that. And then he tells me mike will be by from 11 to 1pm to pick up check. So the following day mike calls my husband leaves several messages and then calls me at 9am and leaves several messages saying he’s in the area he needs the check. I send a text message I’m not home check is on the door. But out of all the messages voice and text mike never mentioned how do you like your windows? Or when he picked up the check he sent me another message saying he got it, but doesn’t have the professionalism to say by the way your windows look great. It was all about the money.
To all our friends and neighbors who have been asking about Window World and how our window install is going, read below...
We hired Window World of TX to install hurricane windows throughout the house. After much research, we chose them because of their reputation for quality and service. This was a very large financial decision and we did not go into it lightly. At time of the sale, I was told 9-11 weeks for the windows to be manufactured and shipped, then I would get the call for installation. It went almost a full 12 weeks from the measuring appt. until I got the call. One of the windows showed up broken, so that will be another appt. that will need to be made. How does a high impact window get broken in shipping?
I was told it would be a 2-day job by both the Salesman (Jim) and the crew leader (Javier). We scheduled the install while Michelle and the girls were visiting family, to minimize the impact.
Wednesday the 24th, the crew showed up between 0800-0830. The 2-man crew made a good dent in the removal and rough installation of 11 of 29 total windows. I found out mid-day that it was supposed to be a 3-man crew, but one had called in sick. The crew leader told me that now they would probably need Friday too. Now I have to scramble for a 3rd day off work.
Thursday the full crew gets to work around 0900. Original 2 guys keep removing and rough installing another 9 windows while 3rd guy installs the outside trim pieces. Crew leader lets me know that they might not get done on Friday now either and may need Saturday morning to come back and do cleaning and caulking to finish up.
Friday morning, I get a phone call from the office... Crew leader had a baby and could they reschedule for Saturday? Awwww... Congrats!!! Hope for a happy, healthy baby with all fingers and toes!
Wait a minute... As a human, I'm excited that the guy had a baby. As a customer, I'm out a vacation day that I could have used for family time, for no progress. In the business world, personnel issues are a company problem, not a customer problem. Bottom line is there was no effort made to move things around. I'm just supposed to suck it up.
Ok, so this starts to fester as the morning progresses so we call Window World and ask how they can make this right. Too late now to save the time, so how about maybe taking a little off the bill for the lost wages? I talked to Jim and made that request. He started crawfishing pretty quickly and said the contract allows for delays and that the GM probably would not approve any monetary remedy, blah, blah, blah. I would understand that if it was weather, but these are all personnel issues. No one knew the crew leader's girlfriend was due? No contingency made?
Michelle and I had been talking and texting over the course of the morning, because she was still out of town. While I was waiting for Jim or the GM to return my call, my wife decided that she was a bit more frustrated with the process and called the GM directly.
Yep.... they just expect us to suck it up and act like they're doing US a favor by coming out on Saturday. Well, as the crew was already planning on coming out on Saturday, they have made exactly ZERO concessions. If I'm spending $29,000 on a job, I expect excellence. Even offering a few hundred off would have made some goodwill.
I have no problem with the crew - they have been doing good work while they were here. But evidently, Window World as an organization, has no concern about customer frustration.
So to all our friends that have been asking how it's been going and if we would recommend Window World. Unless something changes, I'm going to say, "No."
can u make this window?
can you make this window?
Sheesh..my mornings are ruined by your commercial over play!!
Just wanted to let y'all know how please we were today with our window install. Brian & Jason arrived with their crew at about 9:30 am. They took a look at what the job & house entailed and went straight to work. The old windows taken out, new ones in, calked, trimmed and cleaned up by 2:30 pm. Each of the 4 men had a job, yet they worked together to "git 'er done". No muss, no fuss. All the questions I asked were answered politely with an interest in my understanding and the explanations of the workings and warrantees were covered as well. Courteous, professional, clean and according to my very, very picky husband a very good job. Thank you for my new, beautiful, clear view!
The windows are great. It took a long time to get all of them completed. We still haven't gotten our last screen.
