I’ve been reflecting on how children’s emotional behaviors are often misunderstood across different environments, especially when adults interpret them through cultural lenses instead of through public‑health understanding.
Crying easily, shutting down, or falling asleep at unusual times are not cultural traits. They are nervous‑system responses to emotional overload. When a child is shamed for crying, pressured to “perform happiness,” or teased for needing rest, it doesn’t build resilience. It teaches the child to hide their emotions to stay safe.
Emotional safety is not cultural.
Emotional regulation is not cultural.
Trauma responses are not cultural.
They are human. And as adults, educators, and community leaders, our responsibility is to recognize the difference and respond with support instead of shame.

Emotional Leadership is now officially registered with the U.S. Copyright Office!
This work has been the quiet, steady labor of becoming - and I’m grateful to see it formally recognized and protected.
As we continue piloting the 12‑week curriculum with schools and youth programs, this milestone strengthens the foundation for everything we’re building.💛

I’m back home and grateful for the people I met throughout Ghana 🇬🇭 . Sharing the book, having real conversations, and building new relationships made this chapter meaningful. These connections are the foundation of the Emotional Adulthood rollout, and I’m excited for what comes next as the work continues to grow. Being home gives me space to reflect and plan the next steps with clarity. I’m excited to keep moving this mission forward. More updates soon.

First Day Out in Ada!
We’re here in the community today offering free eye screenings 👀 - because health matters. But we’re also inviting everyone to share their voice through our Emotional Leadership surveys 💜. These surveys help us understand how families, partners, and communities experience emotions, conflict, parenting, and cultural expectations.
🙏 Pray with me that people not only come for the screenings, but also feel inspired to fill out the surveys. Every response strengthens the mission to build healthier relationships and stronger emotional leadership across villages and cities. Thank you for standing with me - your encouragement means everything! 🌍💪

Only four days in Ghana, and already I see emotional intelligence alive and thriving. This chapter excites me — proof that growth, leadership, and emotional adulthood are universal, waiting to be embraced wherever we are.

Today marks a milestone: my first business trip as an author and emotional leadership designer.
I’ll be in Kansas City at Tonight’s Conversation — a space that speaks directly to the patterns and principles my book was built on.
Grateful for every aligned room that helps this ecosystem grow. Super excited to see Kittie!

Has anyone taken the Myers‑Briggs test? I’m an INFJ, and it’s cool to see how much it lines up with the way I built this Emotional Leadership ecosystem - how my INFJ mind quietly pulled this whole idea together.
