From worn and tired to a true statement floor. 💐

The original flooring in this foyer and hallway was beyond restoration, so it was completely removed to make way for something new.

Working closely with the homeowner, the team designed a floor that would make this space truly unique. With the client’s guidance, they selected a geometric hardwood pattern, decorative border, and floral medallion to create a one-of-a-kind look. ✨

The new hardwood floor was then carefully installed and finished, transforming the foyer and hallway into a feature of the home rather than just a walkway.

Ever wonder how we sand right up to the edge?
Every inch matters. 📐

Not every part of hardwood floor refinishing can be handled with the big sanding equipment.

Edge sanding allows us to work closer to walls and other areas that require more detailed attention. It’s an important part of creating an even surface before the floor moves on to the next stage of refinishing.

It’s another example of the work that goes into a finished hardwood floor that most people never see. ✨

✨ From Carpet to Character-Rich Reclaimed Oak

This bedroom received a beautiful upgrade with the installation of wide-plank reclaimed oak flooring.

After removing the existing carpet, we installed reclaimed oak from Antique Building Solutions, which specializes in sourcing and milling reclaimed lumber. The flooring features a mix of 6”, 7”, and 8” wide planks, chosen to complement the existing wood wall and bring warmth and character throughout the room.

One of the most important parts of this project was preserving what makes reclaimed wood unique. The floor was moderately sanded to maintain the original saw marks and natural character of the oak. No stain was used, allowing the wood’s natural color and variation to remain the focus.

The floor was finished with LOBA EasyPrime and two coats of LOBA Supra A.T. in a satin finish for a beautiful, durable result.

New floor, old character—and a look that feels like it was always meant to be there.

When it comes to hardwood floors, the little details make a big difference.

Old metal floor vents can stand out and take away from the finished look of the space. A custom wood floor vent can be installed right into the floor and stained to coordinate with the surrounding hardwood, giving everything a cleaner, more seamless appearance.

These vents are also available in a variety of wood species, making it easier to find an option that complements your existing or newly refinished floors.

These photos show the process from the original vent to the finished result. It’s a small upgrade that can make a big impact on the overall look of the room.

There’s something special about the natural beauty of red oak. 🤎

For this project, we installed new red oak hardwood in the kitchen and expanded the flooring into the living room, carefully lacing the new wood into the existing floor to create one seamless, cohesive space.

No stain—just the natural character of the wood, finished with Bona ClassicSeal and two coats of Bona Traffic GO Satin.
