Restoration of the Corsair is being performed by the Connecticut Air & Space Center.

The Connecticut Air & Space Center is a charitable organization dedicated to honoring the pioneers of early aviation, restoring and preserving examples of the aircraft they flew and educating the this and future generations of their rich aviation heritage. The Center relies on volunteers who painstakingly piece together these aircraft and on the donations it receives from those in the public and private sectors.

The Corsair Memorial is well on it's way. We need your support to finish the mission. Consider a donation to the project to finish the Roof, Windows and Hangar Doors!

The reason is the Corsair fighter plane that for three decades adorned the entrance to Sikorsky Memorial Airport might find the 84-year-old hangar as its next home. The hopeful group of volunteers operating the Connecticut Air and Space Center, now busily restoring the Corsair and other aircraft, s...

BREAKING NEWS
We are very proud to announce after presenting to the Sikorsky Memorial Airport Commission, our redevelopment plan for the 1929 Curtiss Hangar and Terminal Building has been accepted and we are currently working out the details for the lease. Our proposal and plan were met with enthusiastic support from both Stratford Mayor John Harkins and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch. We will need a lot of financial assistance to get the job done and expect all of our friends to help us fundraise. The big point here is the Sikorsky Memorial Corsair will have a permanent, indoor home. And we will be able to open the hangar to the general public of all ages.

If you are interested in helping please contact us. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding the project.
