I had the opportunity to help a gentleman who recently suffered a stroke and was struggling with something most of us don’t think twice about, being able to safely use his own bathroom.

I installed some safety modifications to help make his bathroom safer and better suited to his needs. These may seem like simple changes, but for someone recovering from a life changing event, they can mean so much. They can provide stability, confidence, and the ability to regain a little more independence.

What mattered to me just as much as the installation was making sure his family felt comfortable and confident moving forward. I took the time to walk them through each item, showing them the proper way to use the grab bar and toilet riser and answering any questions they had.

This is the reason behind what I do. I’m not just here to fix things around a home, I’m here to help people feel safe, supported, and confident in the place they call home.

Like A Son | A Senior Home Service was created to serve the senior community by providing honest, reliable home services that help seniors remain safe and independent in their homes. Like A Son | A Senior Home Service is here to help with all the little things around the home that may seem small, but can become difficult or unsafe to do on your own.

From changing light bulbs and hanging pictures to safety checks, plumbing repairs and installing grab bars, our goal is to help seniors continue living safely, comfortably, and independently in the home they love.

One of the ways we do that is through our membership program. Membership clients receive scheduled visits where they can simply keep a running list of things they’d like help with, and we’ll take care of them during their visit.

No task is too small. In fact, we know it’s often the little things that make the biggest difference when it comes to feeling cared for at home.

A safer bathroom can make all the difference.

We recently helped a local senior regain confidence and independence with a bathroom safety upgrade that included professionally installed grab bars, a secure shower chair, and a toilet seat riser.

These simple modifications can help reduce the risk of slips and falls while making everyday routines safer and more comfortable.
