Walnut, hard maple, and cherry — three beautiful hardwoods brought together to create these handcrafted edge-grain cutting boards!

𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗗, 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗪𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦

Old nail holes, weathered surfaces, and even missing pieces of wood — would you see something worth saving?

At Sheri’s She Shop, reclaimed cedar gets another opportunity to become something beautiful and useful!

Today I’m showing you a handy pneumatic nail punch that’s made working with reclaimed pallet boards so much easier.

And as often happens in my workshop, there’s a connection between woodworking, life, and faith.

💀 𝗦𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗢𝗡 𝗘𝗧𝗦𝗬! 🍂

Scully made an appearance at the Findlay Night Market, but didn’t find a new home — so we’ve decided to give this one-of-a-kind creation a spot in our Etsy shop!

Handcrafted from 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗡𝗨𝗧, Scully is more than just a Halloween decoration.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝘁 — 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱!

The intricately engraved skull makes a bold display piece, while the smooth reverse side is a fully functional cutting board, conditioned with food-safe mineral oil and our own Sheri’s She Shop board butter.

A little unexpected, definitely a conversation starter, and a perfect example of 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝘁!

Scully is ready for a new home! Check out the attached Etsy link for details.

🔨 𝗪𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗘𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬 — 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗔𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗡!

𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥!

Glue, screws, nails — there are plenty of ways to hold a woodworking project together. But choosing the right method isn’t always as simple as it sounds!

Especially when you remember one of my favorite sayings: 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀!

Join me today at noon on my personal page for Woodworking Wednesday Tool Talk. We’ll look at some of the challenges of joining wood securely while allowing for its natural movement.

And maybe we’ll discover that what holds things together in the workshop has something to teach us about what holds things together in life — and faith.

𝗪𝗪𝗧𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗔𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗡 𝗘𝗧!

I’ve got a lot of projects in process right now—and a lot of finishing steps that simply can’t be rushed.

Sand. Clean. Apply. Wait. Repeat.

Wanting something finished sooner doesn’t change what the process requires.

That lesson felt especially timely for me this morning.
