Kidz MusiQ Club

Kidz MusiQ Club We inspire and reinforce confidence through the performance arts. We introducing kids to jazz appreciation and arts integrated learning through acoustic music, movement, original songs & performance. Ages 1-12.
An innovative music arts and education focus. Promoting learning through acoustic music and movement.

“Not your typical CD for kids. Surprisingly, it’s not at all what you expect.” Kidz MusiQ Club Jazzing Up Learning! (Jazz for kids), is a mix of swing, blues, and Latin style songs from an amazing mom, dad and son trio. You’ll fall in love with the acoustics and catchy melodies of songs that promote learning and having fun through music. Founder Renée Georges, her son, niece, and a group of her son’s friends add swinging vocals, making it enjoyable for parents and even more appealing to young children. You’ll find yourself playing this CD with an arrangement based on Benny Golson’s “Blues March,” some Latin influence, and “light-hearted” blues, more often than you can imagine. A family affair, all arrangements are done by Renee's husband and trombonist, DuPor Georges. Fantastic to share in the car with the baby or kids, this CD is one that parents will enjoy every bit as much as children. Vivid anime artwork, photos of the kids in the studio and refreshing lyrics makes it a cool and meaningful gift for all ages. "Producing quality music for children is the reason for the 'Q' in Kidz MusiQ Club," and Georges stands true to this purpose. “The Calendar Song,” “Junk Food Blues” and the “Spanish Numbers Song” showcase originality, story-telling, strong composition and outstanding musicianship. Her lovely voice brings a fresh sound to her new and growing philosophy which is “Kidz + music + education = Jazzing up Learning!”

Light-hearted musical enjoyment for all ages. Kidz MusiQ Club introduces toddlers, preschoolers, Kindergartners and school-age children to acoustic music by combining jazz, blues, improvisation, Language and movement.

Mission: Providing quality music for children is the reason for the "Q" in Kidz MusiQ Club. Our mission is to engage, encourage, educate and promote learning and movement through music. "Jazzing Up Learning!" combines music and movement with core principles of learning. The program introduces kids to acoustic music and furthers an appreciation for the American genre known as jazz.

Seven years ago, today...
We hope that your heart is singing, and well! 🎶

Memory Monday: as I look back on this image, it’s hard to believe that seven years have passed since we made our first music video, “Junk Food Blues”! In this video, two New Hope Academy teen assistant choreographers, who are now 23, led our rehearsals and helped me get the kids ready for their video shoot at Fairfax Public Access in Virginia. All of the kids (including my Alston) are now in their teens. They are good students, who are becoming global citizens, leaders in their communities and global citizens, who are using the arts in there every day lives. I, Renee Georges: Vocalist. Voice Over. Teaching Artist/ Renee Collins Georges / Renee Collins Georges, Realtor at Keller Williams Flagship of MD) am so grateful that Kidz MusiQ Club was used as a vehicle to spark their artistic interests. I am still using KMC to teach kids in schools and communities. Since it’s inception, I have provided school assemblies, workshops and residencies to more than 5,000 kids and students! I thank all of the parents and the community (schools, non-profits and venues, and individuals) for your support of my dream and for helping me bring my formula of: kids + music + education = Jazzing Up Learning, to reality over the past ten years!
Here’s to the next X ! 🎶🎤🎈🎉🎹

Week Two: Wrapped up my 2nd week of “Summer READS” music & movement camp in Baltimore at Southwest Baltimore Charter Elementary School; AND held a One-Day visit at George Washington ES Libraries! A great time was had by bringing the book “Mae Among the Stars” about Dr. Mae Jamison-the first African American Female in space-to life through song. Campers (ages K-5) created their own “dream melody” to sing over my Kidz MusiQ Club, Jazzing Up Learning song “You Can Do It,” which is tied to the book’s theme, “If you can dream it, if you believe in it, and if you work hard for it, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!” They took the same idea and voiced it over a different instrumental, just like campers did last week. Campers also explored rhythm through a “Simplified Cup Rhythm” game by funmusicco.com; and shared their dreams.

It's so great to be a Teaching Artist in the 2017 Baltimore City Summer READS Library program! Special thanks Young Audiences Maryland, participating teachers and staff! To date, I have presented "Kidz MusiQ Club Jazzing Up Learning!" workshops to approximately 125 campers (jazzy learners) at four different library sites! Over the past four weeks, the kids have been exploring the Maryland State Libraries theme of "BUILD A BETTER WORLD," through jazz music (singing), movement and performance.

Our culminating event of art, music and dance, happens next Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Westport ES/Middle school Library. The kids will perform two songs by blind musicians: Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder. In our workshops kids learned about some of the challenges that the two musicians faced; they discussed how they used music to build a better world.

All are welcome! The program runs from 11 am-12 pm at Westport ES/MS.
