Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates | dcps

Attention parents of DCPS students: Here is a message from the Chancellor of DC Public Schools, Lewis D. Ferebee.
"We continue to work closely with DC Health and Mayor Bowser to determine when schools may reopen. Based on current modeling of the COVID-19 outbreak, it is not realistic that DC Public Schools will open as planned on April 27, and we will continue learning at home for the time being. We hope to share more information about the school year calendar in the coming days.” For DCPS updates, go to https://dcps.dc.gov/coronavirus.

At DC Public Schools (DCPS), we are committed to ensuring the well-being of our students. Communicating about issues that impact school communities is important to fostering strong partnerships with families, and we will continue to provide updates around coronavirus (COVID-19) on topics including:

Sending a thunderous applause to Capt Pete for today's Pontoon Boat Tour at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling's Warfighter & Family Readiness! Our tour was phenomenal 🤩 His knowledge of the area is splendid; and of course, the sights and history are noteworthy. Seeing the rehabilitation of the Arlington Memorial Bridge from the Potomac was quite interesting (#MathMatters). Enjoyed the sight of cyclist on their lunch time cruise as well as the turtles on driftwood. The 1-hour Pontoon Boat Tour is a refreshing and budget friendly excursion. Happy cruising! #EnjoyingtheBigCity
Will the Youth Center be offering Missoula Children’s Theater this summer? My kids love this program!
I hear rumor that the pool will not be opening and I see that the event "grand opening of the pool" has disappeared. Can you confirm the staus of the pool and what day it will be opening?
Would it be possible to get a few compost containers out at the community garden? I know the compost wouldn't be available for a few years but it would be such a great resource for the gardeners AND everyone who has compostable trash (veggie/fruit waste, egg shells). Maybe something like two of these so it's easy to deposit on top and pull ready compost from the bottom (plus a 10% discount at Lowe's or home Depot for military):
I'm looking for a workout partner on Bolling around 5:00 AM in the mornings. Anyone interested?
