New Project in Bernardsville, NJ

We recently completed this custom travertine-inspired plaster fireplace using Meoded Marmorino Palladino with Z-4 Stone Additive.

The finish was created by hand to recreate the look of vein-cut travertine, with natural horizontal movement, texture, pores, and depth throughout the surface.

A lot of the work happens before the finish coat ever goes on. Our team installed corner beads, reinforced the surface with mesh, skim coated and refined the fireplace, applied Meoded Quartz Primer, and then built the final texture with Palladino and Z-4.

The result is a seamless, stone-inspired fireplace that became a custom architectural feature in the room.

From prep to finished feature — this Bernardsville fireplace was transformed with a custom travertine-inspired plaster finish using Meoded Marmorino Palladino with Z-4 Stone Additive.

The goal was to recreate the look of vein-cut travertine with natural horizontal movement, pores, depth, and irregular texture — all applied and refined by hand.

Before the finish went on, we installed corner beads, reinforced the surface with mesh, skim coated the substrate, and applied Meoded Quartz Primer to create the proper foundation.

The result is a seamless, stone-inspired fireplace with the character of natural travertine and the craftsmanship of hand-applied lime plaster.
