Horse shelter pad is done and dusted with my little sidekick Honey

Kicked off by ripping out two big old tree stumps, then stripped all the topsoil for the 7x4 pad. Nothing wasted though, we carted the topsoil out with the tipper and spread it across the paddock to fill in the holes left by washouts after the big rain events.

There was a heap of deco fill sitting on site from the pool build, so we put it to good use, built the pad up and compacted it with the digger, solid as !

Another good day on the tools with the team from Green Coast Plumbing 🤝

Ran a new water line out to the troughs so these little guys are sorted for a drink 🐄💧

The trencher makes quick work of power and water runs on most properties, as long as the ground’s not too rocky. Clean, tidy trench and minimal mess left behind 👌

Special trip down to Tallebudgera Creek to shadylane_homestead

All the water falls towards the stables and has created a muddy mess so we cleaned it about 100 mm and installed some fresh 20mm drainage rock to allow the water to fall through. A very quick fix until the whole area is concreted 🙌

Over 100m3 pulled out from the drive way reshaping so we utilised the fill onsite to add 1.5 m onto the clients shed pad with a nice ramp down to the grass area.

We also filled in the steep bank to make it manageable for maintenance.

All us outdoor tradies have had battles with this weather which has delayed completing jobs soooo I’m posting some process pics of a geo hex install for this beautiful property up Oceanview.

Foundations are key to installing this product. Good 100mm base of crusher dust compacted while achieving fall into the drains is key!
