What Is Your Biggest Frustration with Your Water Bill?

Let’s talk about your water bill. 💧

Is it the amount you pay every month?

Is it watching water disappear down the drain while you wait for your shower or tap to get hot?

Is it knowing that some of the water you are paying for is never actually being used?

Or is it simply the feeling that water is becoming more expensive while we are being asked to use less?

We want to know what frustrates you the most.

👇 Tell us in the comments:

1️⃣ The cost of my water bill
2️⃣ Water wasted while waiting for hot water
3️⃣ Water restrictions
4️⃣ All of the above

Your answer helps us understand what matters most to South African households.

Can I Install the Value Valve Myself? 🔧

It is a question we get often.

The Value Valve is designed to work with standard plumbing and is installed on the hot-water line before the tap.

For the initial installation, we recommend using a qualified plumber or experienced installer, because it involves your home’s water supply and plumbing connections.

But once it is installed, maintenance is different.

No plumber is required for routine maintenance. It is DIY.
You can maintain the Value Valve yourself without needing a specialist.

The valve itself requires no electricity to operate — it responds to the temperature of the water flowing through it.

Once installed, the system redirects the cold water that would normally run down the drain to your storage tank.

💧 Cold water → Storage
🔥 Hot water → Tap

Simple installation. Smart water saving. Easy maintenance.

💧 Fun Fact: South Africa Is a Water Scarce Country

South Africa is one of the most water-stressed countries in the world. 💧

Our water resources are limited, rainfall is unpredictable, and many areas regularly experience water shortages.

That makes every litre of water we can save important.

But saving water isn’t only about taking shorter showers or turning off the tap while brushing your teeth.

Sometimes, it is about looking at the water we automatically waste every day.

Every morning, millions of litres can run down drains simply because people are waiting for hot water to arrive.

That is water we can capture instead of waste.

The Value Valve is designed to redirect that cold water to storage while you wait for the hot water to arrive.

Every drop matters. Every home can make a difference. 💧

⚡ The Load Shedding Problem Nobody Talks About

Load shedding has changed how South African households use water. 💧

When power goes out, your electric geyser stops heating. By the time power comes back, the water in your pipes has gone stone cold.

So you turn on the tap.

And you wait.

Longer than usual. More cold water down the drain than usual.

Load shedding makes the daily water waste problem worse — not better.

The Value Valve works during load shedding. No electricity needed. It diverts that cold water to your storage every time — power or no power.

Has load shedding changed how much water your household wastes?

🔧 What Happens to the Cold Water the Valve Saves?

Great question we get asked all the time. 🔧

When the Value Valve detects cold water flowing through, it diverts it away from your tap and sends it out through a third port on the valve body.

You connect that third port to a pipe that runs to your storage tank — a JoJo tank, a holding tank, or any water storage vessel you have on your property.

Every litre of cold water that used to disappear down your drain now fills your tank instead.

That saved water can then be used for:

🌱 Garden irrigation
🚽 Toilet flushing
🧽 Outdoor washing
🐄 Livestock or animals
🏠 General household use

One device. Two benefits. Zero waste. 💧

💧 Here is something most people never think about.

When your geyser heats water, that hot water sits in your pipes waiting to be used. Over time, the pipes cool down — so even if you used hot water 30 minutes ago, the water in your pipes has already gone cold again.

This means every time you turn on a hot tap, you are back to square one. Waiting. Wasting. Again.

The longer your pipe run goes from geyser to tap, the more cold water you waste — every single time.

In a larger home, this can mean up to 5 minutes of cold water before hot water arrives.

Did you know this was happening in your home?
