🎃 Something wickedly delicious is brewing at Boobooks! 🥧☕️

Our wonderful neighbours at Boobooks have been conjuring up some rather tempting Halloween treats!

From Hessian Harvest Pie and TarryTown Muffins to Sleepy Hollow Scones and Van Tassel Sweet Cakes, there's enough delicious mischief to tempt even the most disciplined sweet tooth! 👻

We reckon a visit to Boobooks for a little indulgence, followed by a wander through the curious treasures at Jolly Good Emporium, sounds like a perfectly splendid way to spend a spring afternoon! 🐸🎩

But be quick — these spooky delights disappear after 31 October!

Support local, enjoy something delicious, and make a Jolly Good day of it! 💚

Mr Good, looking unusually respectable for a change!

What a wonderful evening the Creative Streets Festival opening turned out to be. Armidale was absolutely buzzing, with thousands of people enjoying the music, entertainment, creativity and atmosphere throughout the city.

We were delighted to be part of the celebrations at Jolly Good Emporium, and it was fantastic to see so many people out supporting our wonderful town.

A huge thank you to Armidale Regional Council, the organisers, performers and everyone who helped bring the evening to life.

The Council is now inviting feedback on the opening night, so if you were there, please take a moment to complete their survey. Let's help make the next one even better!

And thank you for capturing Mr Good in his natural habitat — surrounded by curiosities, of course! 🐸🎩

✨🐸 A LITTLE MAGIC THROUGH SOMEONE ELSE’S LENS! 📸✨

What a wonderful surprise to see the Jolly Good Emporium captured so beautifully by SuzyB FotoGrafix! ❤️

Sometimes, when you're surrounded by curiosities every day, you forget just how wonderfully eccentric the place really is!

Suzy has taken some absolutely gorgeous photographs of the Emporium, capturing the colours, the character, the unusual treasures and all those little details that make our shop what it is.

And there are many more to enjoy in her fabulous slideshow! 🎥

It's rather lovely to see our little world through someone else's eyes.

What an absolutely wonderful night in Armidale! 🎶✨

What a fabulous way to kick off the Creative Streets Festival!

We wanted to share this beautiful performance by Bitz of Buzz, who treated us to some truly wonderful music at Jolly Good Emporium tonight. This special piece written just for tonight. ❤️

A huge thank you also to the Barney Street Band, who helped make the evening so memorable. Having live music filling the Emporium was something rather special!

With thousands of people out enjoying the festivities, the town was absolutely buzzing. The weather was kind to us, the atmosphere was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see so many people supporting this fabulous community event.

After all the hard work preparing our new shopfront display, tonight made it all worthwhile!

A heartfelt thank you to the musicians, organisers, volunteers and everyone who came along. What a wonderful reminder of just how special Armidale can be when our community comes together.

🎩 **TWO YEARS AGO TODAY… HOW TIME FLIES!** 🐸❤️

On 15 October 2024, we opened the doors to our little antique shop in Uralla, full of enthusiasm, big ideas and absolutely no idea where this adventure would take us!

Looking back at these photographs, it's hard to believe just how much has changed in two short years.

Who would have thought that our little venture in Uralla would grow into **Jolly Good Emporium**, with a wonderful new home in the heart of Armidale, in a historic building with so many stories of its own?

What started as a love of antiques, curiosities and all things unusual has become so much more. We've discovered extraordinary treasures, heard fascinating stories, made wonderful friendships and met some truly unforgettable characters along the way.

There have been challenges, plenty of hard work, a few surprises and more than a little madness! But we wouldn't have it any other way.

And the best part? We're still only getting started!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way — our customers, consignors, friends, family and fellow lovers of all things old and curious. You've all helped make this adventure what it is today.

**Two years, two towns, countless treasures and a lifetime of stories still waiting to be discovered.**

Who knows where we'll be in another two years? 😁

🎉🐻 WINNIE THE POOH IS TURNING 100! 🎂🍯

And you're all invited to his birthday party!

Tomorrow, Wednesday 14 October, we're celebrating Winnie's 100th birthday at the Jolly Good Emporium, and we'd love you to join us at lunchtime! 🎈

After his rather unexpected adventure around Armidale recently, Winnie has become something of a local celebrity. He's promised to behave himself for his big day, although we're not taking any chances! 😂

We'll have Winnie out the front of the Emporium for photographs, under close supervision, of course. We can't have the birthday boy wandering off on another unscheduled sightseeing tour!

Come along, wish Winnie a happy birthday, have a photo with our much-loved bear and help us celebrate a very special milestone.

Richard has a wonderful talent for turning the most unexpected found objects into wearable works of art.
We're talking prosthetic eyes, broken dolls, Monopoly pieces, jigsaw puzzles, vintage lino, copper fragments and all sorts of other curious bits and pieces that most people wouldn't dream of turning into jewellery!
The results are imaginative, eccentric, sometimes slightly unsettling — and absolutely marvellous! 😍
Naturally, we think Richard's creations fit right in amongst our own collection of curiosities and oddities.
After all, where else would a prosthetic eye and a broken doll find themselves perfectly at home? 👁️
A big thank you to Richard for bringing his wonderfully peculiar creations to our little corner of Armidale.

**NO, WE’RE NOT SELLING NEWSPAPERS!**

**NO, WE’RE NOT CLOSING DOWN!**

And no, Mr Good hasn't completely lost the plot… well, not quite! 😂

You may have noticed that half our shopfront windows have mysteriously disappeared behind sheets of newspaper.

Rest assured, there's a very good reason!

Behind those newspaper-covered windows, we've been busy working on something rather special — a brand-new, wonderfully eccentric **Jolly Good Emporium shopfront display!**

And we're keeping it all under wraps until the grand unveiling!

🎭 **SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER — 4 PM**

✨ **CREATIVE STREETS FESTIVAL** ✨

That's when all will be revealed, as we unveil our latest creation to celebrate the festival's kickoff!

Until then, you'll just have to wonder what's going on behind those windows. 👀

**And don't worry — we're OPEN AS USUAL, seven days a week, 9 am–5 pm!**

The mysteries are multiplying, the curiosity is building, and there's never a dull moment at the Emporium!

🚨 HAS ANYONE SEEN WINNIE? 🚨

We’re very sad to report that Winnie the Pooh was stolen from outside Jolly Good Emporium this afternoon.

A group of young people were seen running off with him down the East Mall, and he was later reportedly spotted near the park. We searched the area but unfortunately couldn’t find him.

The matter has been reported to Armidale Police.

Winnie isn’t just something we had for sale. He’s become a bit of a character at the Emporium — sitting out the front, making people smile, posing for photos and generally being part of the madness that is Jolly Good.

We’d really just like him back.

If you’ve seen Winnie this afternoon, know where he might be, or happen to see an enormous yellow bear wandering around Armidale looking rather lost, please send us a private message or contact Armidale Police.

And if whoever has him happens to read this: please just bring him back. No grand speeches required. Winnie can come home and we can get on with things.
