A BEDROOM THAT FEELS LIKE A RETREAT 🌙

The master bedroom should be your personal sanctuary — a place that belongs entirely to you and the person you share your life with. 🌿

The triangular gable window in this bedroom is a signature move that transforms what could have been a standard room into something genuinely memorable. It floods the space with natural light, creates a focal point above the bed, and gives the home a roofline with real character from the street. 🪟

Warm green textiles layered over crisp white linen. Timber-framed bed that brings earthiness to a bright, airy room. Grey carpet underfoot that softens the acoustic and feels incredible first thing in the morning. ✨

Every detail in a master bedroom should make you feel like you've been looked after. That's the intention we bring to every room at RLD Design.

Kalkarra 🏡

We have just wrapped up the town planning documentation for this beauty! 🌿

A U-shaped layout that wraps around a central outdoor lawn, creating a private sanctuary that works for kids, entertaining, and quiet weekends alike. Multiple living zones that feel connected while still offering moments of separation. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The recycled brick exterior and white roof keep the home cool and crisp in the Victorian summer. The deep eaves provide shade when you need it. And the planting softens everything, making the home feel embedded in its landscape rather than imposed upon it. 🌳

Single-storey living doesn't mean compromise. With the right design, it means everything.

📩 What does your ideal floor plan look like? DM us — we'd love to design it with you.

DESIGNED AROUND THE GEELONG LIFESTYLE 🌿

There's a reason we love designing homes in Geelong and along the Surfcoast. It's a region with genuine character — one that rewards homes that respond to their environment rather than ignoring it. 🌊

Outdoor living. Natural light. Connection to the surrounding landscape. These aren't add-ons in a Geelong home — they're essentials. And designing them well takes an intimate understanding of the local climate, the local planning environment, and the way Geelong families actually live. 🏡

From Highton to Jan Juc, Connewarre to Ocean Grove — we know this region. We know the coastal winds that shape the design of a seaside home. We know the planning overlays that affect heritage properties in central Geelong. We know the builders who'll do your project justice. 🤝

This local knowledge isn't something you can Google. It's built over years of working here, for the people who live here. ✨

📩 Working with a Geelong specialist makes a real difference. DM us to find out how.

STONE, TIMBER AND LIGHT — THE PERFECT TRIO 🌟

The most enduring homes are the ones where the materials feel inevitable — like they belong together, like they were always destined to share the same walls and floors and ceilings. 🏡

Stone brings permanence and connection to the earth. Timber brings warmth and a living quality that no synthetic material can replicate. And light — generous, well-considered natural light — is the element that brings them both to life. ✨

This is the material philosophy we bring to every project at RLD Design. Not just picking colours or finishes from a palette, but thinking holistically about how materials interact, how they age, how they feel underfoot and overhead and through your fingers. 🌿

Great materials are an investment. And when you choose them with intention, they reward you for decades.

What materials are you drawn to for your home? Tell us in the comments.

BELL POST HILL 🏡

Final documentation is done and dusted on this stunning new build, and we could not be more excited for what's ahead!

Perched on a beautifully sloping block with sensational views stretching out to Corio Bay, this home was designed to capture every single sight line. From the moment you step inside, clean straight lines and a huge raised ceiling draw you through a statement entry and hallway that sets the tone for the whole home. 🌊

The main living area and alfresco flow seamlessly together, both perfectly framed by those breathtaking bay views. Whether you're entertaining or simply soaking it all in, this space was built for the moments that matter. 🥂

A huge entertaining area gives the whole family room to come together, with rendered finishes and beautiful natural timber pops adding warmth and character throughout. 🪵

We cannot wait to watch this one take shape over the coming months — stay tuned, the best is absolutely yet to come! 😍
