🎁 11 BOXES ARRIVED... AND LOOK WHAT WAS HIDING INSIDE! 👀🌿

I've been unpacking, rearranging shelves, finding room where there isn't any, and having a wonderful time matching plants to their new homes! 😂

And now it's time for a little NEW STOCK REVEAL!

We've got cheeky Christmas gnomes, gorgeous sage green gumboots, botanical teacups, buzzing little bees, Christmas angel decorations, beautiful green honeycomb pots and rustic rattan baskets!

Some are cute, some are quirky, some are practical, and some are just too lovely to leave behind!

And with Christmas creeping closer, there are plenty of gift ideas here too. 🎄

Of course, most of these beauties can be paired with a lovely indoor plant, ready to give as a gift (or keep for yourself... I won't tell! 🤫).

🌿 NOW I NEED YOUR HELP!

Watch the reel and tell me in the comments...

❤️ Which new arrival is YOUR favourite?
And if something catches your eye, don't wait too long! Send me a message for prices, availability or to arrange a visit.

🎄 Remember, you can choose your Christmas plant gifts early and I'll happily babysit them until closer to Christmas!

📍 Perth Plantspiration, Banksia Grove 🏡 Open 7 days, 10am to 5pm by appointment.

If I had to start from scratch selling indoor plants and gifts, I would do these three things differently.

When I took over Perth Plantspiration in 2021, I had plenty of enthusiasm and a love of plants, but little experience running a business!

I've certainly learnt a few things, sometimes the hard way!

1. I would be more confident with my pricing.💲

Nobody warned me about the hidden costs! Insurance, gift bags, business cards, stickers, market fees (ouch!), tables, displays, banners and signs. It all adds up!

And then there's Paul's recycled timber creations!
I thought he already had enough woodworking tools, beeswax and varnish. Apparently not!

His workshop is now bursting with new tools and equipment he simply couldn't do without! I'm beginning to think Paul has the more expensive hobby! 🪵

2. I would spend more time educating customers.
I assumed people knew more about indoor plants. Now I love helping beginners choose plants they can confidently keep alive! 🪴

3. I would put more thought into my market stall displays. 🌿

Looking back at my earlier setups, I realise how much I've learnt about presentation! Different heights, better signage, attractive displays and making it easier for customers to see everything.
I soon discovered that simply putting lovely products on a table wasn't quite enough!

Of course, that meant buying even MORE display equipment! 🤷‍♀️

Would I do it all again? Absolutely! 😊

I'm still learning, and that's part of the fun!

If you're a small business owner, what's ONE thing you'd do differently if you were starting again?

I have 3 gorgeous, healthy, easy care Philodendron Brasil hanging plants for sale that I couldn't resist getting as they have beautiful variegated leaves of green, & yellow.

$25 each. 3 available.

Suitable for indoors in a bright spot (indirect light) or outdoors in a warm shady spot in your patio. Can take early morning sunlight, but not noon or late afternoon sun.

Pick up from Perth Plantspiration, Banksia Grove.

EFTPOS facilities available.

CARE TIPS:
LIGHT: Philodendron Brasil does best in bright, natural light
WATER: When the top two inches of the soil feels slightly dry, then give the soil a good soak.
FERTILISE: Fertilise monthly during Spring & Summer with liquid fertiliser.
HUMIDITY: Most Philodendrons enjoy a humid environment. Place your plant close to other plants, or use a pebble tray, which increases the humidity of the air around them.
TOXICITY: Philodendron Brasil are toxic to humans and pets.

Message me ASAP if you are interested, as I think these won't last long as they are hard to find like this.

Hi everyone!

I'm Sally from Perth Plantspiration, and today I'm talking about keeping it real and being authentic in business.

I run a little home-based business in Banksia Grove, in Perth's northern suburbs, selling easy care indoor plant gifts, unusual planters and my husband Paul's handmade recycled timber creations.

I help people find lovely green gifts for family and friends, or even a little something for themselves. And if they're not confident with indoor plants, I'm always happy to help them choose something suitable.

Now, here's a little behind the scenes reality!
Before getting involved in Perth Plantspiration, I'd spent most of my working life in offices.

I'd never really done outdoor or hands-on work.
Then, after retiring early through ill health, I found myself running a business involving plants, potting mix, watering, sourcing products, taking photographs, social media, markets, customers and goodness knows what else!

And my poor husband Paul has to put up with plants and planters gradually taking over our home!

I seem to wear about twenty different hats these days, and I'm still learning.

Some days things go beautifully. Other days, well, let's just say there's never a dull moment!

I think that's what being authentic in business is all about.

Being yourself, being honest and genuinely wanting the best for your customers.

I'm certainly no expert in everything. I'm still learning about plants, technology, social media and running a small business.

I make mistakes, I ask questions and sometimes I have a good laugh at myself!

But I genuinely enjoy what I do, especially meeting customers, having a chat and helping them choose something they'll love.

And one of the loveliest things is when customers come back again or recommend me to their friends.
That means a lot. 💚

So, if you're in Perth's northern suburbs, you're always welcome to visit my little home shop in Banksia Grove.
Just send me a message to arrange a time.🌿

And if you're unsure which indoor plant would suit your home, I'm always happy to help.🪴

Have a wonderful day!

Sally

❤️ RED or 🩷 PINK? Help me decide!

I've been planning my Christmas Poinsettia Gift Boxes with the traditional red plants, but after seeing these gorgeous bright pink and pale pink poinsettias at the nursery, I'm having second thoughts! 😂

So I'm asking YOU!

Would you prefer traditional Christmas red, or would you love the option of pink in your Christmas gift box?

❤️ Traditional Red 🩷 Bright Pink 🌸 Pale Pink.

Pop your favourite in the comments! Your answers will help me decide what colours to stock this Christmas.

And yes, my Christmas Poinsettia Gift Boxes will still be just $35! 🎄

Taking orders now. Pick up from Banksia Grove before 23rd December.

NOW YOU SEE ME... NOW YOU DON'T! 😂🌿

I popped into the nursery today and look what followed me home!

Well, how could I possibly leave this gorgeous Variegated Philodendron Heart Leaf behind?

It's so big that I've practically disappeared behind it! 😂

And those beautiful heart-shaped leaves with their splashes of green and cream. Just gorgeous!

This beauty is now available at Perth Plantspiration, although I might have a little trouble saying goodbye to it!

Perfect for someone who loves a trailing indoor plant that makes a statement.
Now, be honest. Would you have left this one at the nursery? 😂

CONFESSIONS OF A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER!

You'd think after doing quite a few markets I'd have everything down to a fine art by now, wouldn't you?
Well, think again!

I've managed to turn up at markets without my Square card reader, forgotten to bring enough change AND left my entire box of gift bags sitting at home!

Not all at the same market, thankfully!

What have I learnt? That my memory isn't quite as reliable as I'd like to think it is!

So now I have a MARKET CHECKLIST!

It's amazing how a few little mistakes can teach you to be better organised.

And hopefully, that means when you visit my stall, everything runs smoothly and you can concentrate on choosing your lovely plant gifts, rather than watching me work out how to get them home!

Running a small business certainly keeps you on your toes, and I'm still learning as I go.

Now, please tell me I'm not the only one!

What's something you've forgotten or a silly mistake you've made that you can laugh about now?
