Apparently I can’t walk past a beautiful door without taking a photo… so Athens gave me quite a collection. 📷

Fifteen favourites from my wanderings, brought together in one print. Weathered timber, intricate ironwork and all those colours 🤍

Doors of Athens is now available as an A3 digital download for $19.95 AUD. My own photography, ready for you to print locally, frame and make a little space for Greece at home.

Which door would you choose?

Athens, you go on forever. 🤍

A sea of rooftops, little balconies and glimpses of everyday life. I could spend hours looking out over this city, wondering about all the stories tucked inside, but it’s time to say Ta léme argótera.

Always drawn to the little details, even with a view this big.

Another day exploring Athens and if you look closely at this gate you’ll see two different worlds layered on top of each other. 📸

This is the Arch of Hadrian. What I love about it is how it physically tells a story through its architecture.

The bottom half is purely Roman—a heavy, solid, massive limestone arch built to command attention. But if you look up, the style completely shifts. The top level is classically Greek, featuring delicate Corinthian columns and a light, open silhouette that cuts right into the sky.

Built nearly 2,000 years ago to mark the boundary between “Old Athens” and “New Roman Athens.”

A glimpse of Ancient Greece and no not all columns are the same. This is a classical Ionic column capital from the Erechtheion on the Acropolis, which was built during the Greek Golden Age (around 421–406 BCE). It is defined by its sweeping, elegant scrolls (volutes) and delicate leaf patterns. Every single element you see was chiseled entirely by hand into solid Pentelic marble over 2,400 years ago without modern tools.

The holiday is calling… and yes, I’m answering 🤍

Swapping the moulds for a suitcase and camera for just a little while. Malta & Sicily I cannot wait to see you - and photograph all the gorgeousness along the way.

Still packing? Absolutely🤣

What’s something you’d hate to forget to pack?

If these doors could talk.

So when I travel, doors seem to be my favourite image to capture. The more aged it is the more I am drawn to it, can you imagine how many people have passed through everyone of these? I just can’t imagine the stories that belong to these.

This image will be available on my website as an A2 image for a full impact and as a great conversation piece.

Unmoulding is probably the most nerve-racking part of making each piece. You’ve mixed, poured, waited… and then comes the moment you find out whether it’s all worked.

Thankfully, this one behaved. 🤍

POLIGNANO I

Captured in Polignano a Mare, Puglia, 2023.

Imagine lying under the Italian sun, salt still on your skin, surrounded by the hum of a crowded beach. The heat of the stone filled beach, incredible turquoise water and nowhere else you need to be.

The kind of summer memory you wish you could bottle.

Perhaps hanging it on the wall is the next best thing.
