✨ Creating beautiful kitchens. One at a time. ✨

25/10/2026

The most rewarding part of any renovation is hearing how the finished space makes our clients feel once they’re truly living in it. For Lin, this project became more than just a kitchen renovation. It became a home that finally felt balanced, functional, and entirely their own. Having moved from a larger Bayside home into a more compact footprint, the brief for the kitchen was clear: maximise functionality without compromising on beauty. And we were honoured to be the team that brought this to life.

“We had a really clear idea of what we wanted, but needed someone who could work with us flexibly and help turn that vision into something functional and beautifully resolved." Lin explained "As soon as we met Darko, Jordan and the Wood Wizards team, it just felt right. There was trust straight away."

"They didn’t take over, but they also weren’t hands off. They listened, did the drawings, solved the practical issues, and helped us get the functionality right. Kirstin was also wonderful to bounce ideas off, especially for those key design decisions where another perspective was invaluable. Darko was incredible throughout. Calm, patient, practical, and always solution-focused, even when the floor plan changed and things became more complicated than expected. We love the finished result. The cabinetry is so well integrated, the storage is amazing, and the whole home feels like us. It was a great experience, and we’d absolutely work with Wood Wizards again.”

A beautiful kitchen is important. But creating a dream home collaboratively with our clients and achieving a space that they genuinely love living in? That’s always the real goal. Explore more of our Melbourne transformations via LINK IN BIO ↖ or call (03) 9557 2988 to begin your own today.

Some homes are designed. Others are curated. And then there are those rare projects where every decision feels considered, every detail intentional, and every space quietly connected. This is one of them.

On Hambleton Street in Middle Park, our client Lin set out to create something deeply personal, yet broadly appealing. A home that could hold both heritage and modernity. A space that felt elegant, but never formal. Relaxed, but still refined.

At the centre of it all sits the kitchen - the anchor, the meeting point, the room that informed everything else. But this story doesn’t begin and end there. It flows through the entire home, threading together materials, profiles, and moments of personality in a way that feels effortless… even though it’s anything but.

“We’ve renovated a lot of homes over the years," Lin explained "and what stood out with Wood Wizards was how collaborative the whole process felt. They really listened to what we were trying to achieve and helped bring it to life in a way that felt calm, functional and true to us. The team were incredible to work with, and the end result feels beautiful without sacrificing practicality. We absolutely love living in it.”

The kitchen now feels seamlessly integrated into the home - open, welcoming, and designed to evolve with the family over time. It’s proof that the best spaces don’t compete for attention. They simply feel right the moment you walk in. If your home is ready for its next chapter, the Wood Wizards team is here to help bring it to life. Hamptons kitchens live and die by their detailing. The profile has to be right. The proportions matter. And in an open-plan layout, the joinery needs to feel integrated with the home rather than sitting apart like a new kitchen insert.

For this Hamptons style meets Hampton Melbourne renovation, the winning combination was Polytec Casino paired with Polytec Calcutta 100 both in 2 pack Satin Classic White. The shaker profile brings that classic Hamptons character, while the introduction of the V-groove detail adds rhythm and breaks up the cabinetry in a way that feels intentional and architectural. To round out the cabinetry family, a flat profile was also introduced where it best supported the design, keeping the overall look calm and cohesive.

Caesarstone Organic White benchtops became a strong anchor for the whole palette. But just as important as the material itself was how the surface could be used day to day. In the original kitchen layout, the tap sat on the island. Moving it changed everything. The shift created a benchtop that feels cleaner and more welcoming, and it gave the island a new job - not a functional obstacle, but a central gathering point. It’s now a space that supports everyday flow and feels inviting when you walk in the door.

The La Riviera Gris Nuage Gloss tiled splashback introduces movement and softness through its herringbone layout, while brushed nickel Lincoln Sentry Modar Barra handles add warmth and polish. It’s a kitchen built on thoughtful decisions - where every detail works hard, but nothing feels overdone.

This Hampton project is a testament to what happens when a clear vision meets thoughtful guidance and skilled ex*****on. The result is a kitchen, and a home, that's calm, complete, and entirely its own - a place designed not just to look beautiful, but to be enjoyed every single day.

“I couldn’t be happier with the outcome" our client Jen explained. "I had a clear vision going in, and the team helped bring it to life in a way that feels exactly right for me. The showroom made such a difference too!! Being able to see everything in person gave me real confidence in my choices. Darko was incredible throughout the whole process. Having someone I could call anytime, even months later, is a game changer. The trades were all amazing, so professional and easy to deal with. I’ve done a full renovation, not just the kitchen, and it’s been worth it one hundred percent. I sit in my home now and think, “I love this, I want to be here.” I recommend Wood Wizards to everyone.”

Some homes arrive with everything you need - light, warmth, and a layout full of promise. For our client Jen, her Hampton property offered exactly that. Drawn to its natural light and inviting living spaces, she could immediately see what it could become. The brief was clear: create a true Hamptons-style kitchen, while refining the rest of the house to match.

Jen arrived with her direction already mapped out: Hamptons Coastal. Not in the sense of novelty beach-house styling, but in the way the best Hamptons spaces always land: bright, layered, classic, and quietly luxurious. The kind of kitchen that invites you to exhale as soon as you walk in.

That clarity allowed us to focus on what we do best: finessing, refining, narrowing the options, and making sure each selection worked in harmony. And because Jen is wonderfully visual, the showroom played a starring role. Seeing door profiles in real life, understanding how whites behave under light, comparing finishes properly, and walking through configurations made decision-making feel grounded and confident.

The result is a kitchen that feels timeless but not predictable. Familiar, but elevated.

Some homes don’t need to be reinvented. They just need to be revealed. On Fewster Road in Hampton, our client Jen already had something worth protecting: a bright, welcoming space with beautiful natural light and a fireplace that gave the living zone instant warmth. The bones were good. The feeling was already there. She bought the home because she could see its potential, and the brief was clear from the outset: bring a true Hamptons style kitchen into a home that could genuinely carry it.

This project became a calm, cohesive evolution led by Jen’s vision, shaped by thoughtful guidance, and brought to life through craftsmanship and our trusted network of trades. The space doesn’t just look different. It feels different. Lighter. Cleaner. More resolved. The transformation wasn’t about reinventing the home - it was about elevating it, allowing the design to feel as though it had always belonged.

For Jess and Nick, this kitchen isn’t just a renovation - it’s a reflection of how they live today. A place where family, design, and practicality intersect. Every corner has been thoughtfully considered, from the bench seats that invite conversation to the textured tiles that spark joy. And perhaps that’s what makes this transformation so special, it proves that true impact doesn’t require radical change. Just the right people, the right guidance, and the right sprinkle of wizardry.

Jess explained “We are absolutely thrilled with our Wood Wizards kitchen. From the very first meeting, the team made everything feel easy and transparent. Jordan was patient, clear and genuinely listened to what we needed as a busy, growing family. Kirstin stretched our thinking in the best possible way. Every selection she guided us towards is something we now love, and never would have chosen on our own. The process was smooth, the trades were exceptional, and the attention to detail was incredible. The kitchen has completely changed how we use our home, and the island bench seating is now everyone’s favourite spot. We’ve already recommended Wood Wizards to friends, and will continue to without hesitation.”

The renovation delivered exactly what they hoped for, a calm, intuitive, thoughtfully resolved kitchen that respects the home’s history while supporting the busy rhythm of family life. The transformation proves that impact doesn’t always come from changing everything, sometimes it comes from refining what’s already there, with the right people guiding every step.

If this story has you imagining what could be possible in your own home, consider it your sign. Don’t put it off. Take the leap. And if you’d like the Wizards by your side? All the better! We’re here to listen, guide, and bring your ideas to life.

At the heart of this Hawthorn kitchen design sits Polytec Malabar cabinetry in Oyster Grey, a bold yet timeless alternative to white. Chosen for its contemporary micro-shaker profile (detailed enough to add charm yet subtle enough to suit the home’s Edwardian architecture), it delivered the balance our client Jess was searching for. Paired with The Porcelain Factory Enviro 12 Cascade benchtops, with their soft grey tones and delicate veining, the palette settles into a harmony that feels both current and enduring. With highlight windows flooding the space with daylight, Oyster Grey brings warmth and depth without overpowering.

Finishing touches also gave this kitchen its quiet confidence. Touch Vesio handles in Titanium tie in seamlessly with the dark stainless appliances, while the Franke Eos Neo Anthracite Pull-Out Tap and Bolero sink introduce a gentle contrast that feels intentional. On the island’s rear panels, the clean, handleless doors open to reveal generous hidden storage, a reminder that thoughtful design lives just as much behind the scenes as it does on display.

Texture was also key to giving this modern shaker its personality. The Tile Fusion Zellige Ivory Gloss splashback tiles, handmade and slightly irregular, bring depth, soul, and a hint of imperfection that makes the space feel lived in. They catch the light with ease, framing the feature Robert Gordon Ceramic Wall Sconce lights, hand-glazed in Melbourne and one-of-a-kind.

And for Jess, the hidden appliance hutch was a game changer. With its pull-out runner system, the morning routine now runs seamlessly - little luxuries like this bring calm to the chaos of family life, allowing design to work quietly in the background.

From the start, this Hawthorn renovation was never about knocking down walls, it was about unlocking potential. The existing floorplan had good bones, but its 1990s fittings and finishes were ready for a fresh chapter. An evolution from dated to beautifully deliberate.

Jess and Nick’s renovation journey began not with a dramatic redesign, but with a clear goal: transform their kitchen and living area into something calm, current, and purposeful. A kitchen that could grow with their family without the need for changing the footprint. With full lives and little ones in the mix, they wanted a space that felt intuitive to use, flowed beautifully, and would continue to serve them well for years to come.

Functionally, the layout was refined rather than reinvented. Bench seating tucked beneath the island became the quiet hero, creating a gathering nook everyone naturally returns to - a go-to for coffee, chats, and little feet. A hidden appliance hutch with a pull-out runner system transformed their morning routine, keeping crumbs, toast and cereal out of sight when the day begins.

And in true Jess fashion, the styling came together with a thoughtful edit of GlobeWest pieces. Her knack for blending texture, form, and warmth meant a few well-chosen accents were all it took to bring an inviting, lived-in feel to the finished space. It’s the subtle details that make this kitchen feel unmistakably theirs.

Some transformations are loud, dramatic, and unrecognisable. Others - like this one - whisper elegance through every line and finish. Jess and Nick’s Edwardian home in Hawthorn was ready for an update, but it didn’t need reinvention. What it needed was refinement, a reimagined kitchen that worked harder, flowed better, and felt effortlessly modern without losing its character.

As two busy professionals (with one little boy and another on the way), Jess and Nick needed a space that balanced style and practicality, calm amid the daily hustle. The result? A kitchen that feels quietly confident, where subtle design choices come together in perfect harmony.

This renovation began with a simple conversation between Jess and our interior designer, Kirstin - colleagues from GlobeWest who’d become friends long before the first cabinetry sample was chosen. Her recommendation carried real weight, and once Jess and Nick met Jordan in the showroom, everything clicked into place. Clear communication, accurate quoting, transparent timelines and considered advice gave the couple confidence from day one.
