💡 Flooring tip: which way should you lay your planks? 🏠
It’s one of the most common questions we get, and getting it right makes a big difference to how your floor looks! ☀️
✅ The right way: Lay planks parallel to your main window light. Light flows along the seams, hiding joints and making rooms feel longer and larger.
❌ The wrong way: Running planks across the light. It casts harsh shadows along raised edges and highlights every gap and imperfection.
🔨 3 quick expert tips:
1️⃣ Follow the primary light source, usually your largest window or glass door
2️⃣ If light sources are equal, run planks parallel to the main entrance to draw the eye into the room
3️⃣ Over timber joists, run solid hardwood boards perpendicular to the joists. Structure comes first!
