Bristlebrush Designs

Bristlebrush Designs Looking for something a bit different and quirky? Come and browse our beautiful range of handmade Au Each
animal is made from the ‘Buri Palm’.

All of our Bristlebrush animals are designed and developed right
here in Australia by talented and creative artists. Once the design
is complete, the base manufacturing takes place overseas. This renewable source of palm
is native to the Philippines, and grows new harvestable fronds every
month! This makes them very environmentally sustainable. The stalks of these palms are first soaked in bleach, causing them
to separate into a very strong yet relatively soft bristle fibre. These
fibres are then dried, cut and rolled around a central wire, creating
a ‘Bristle Brush’. Once this process is complete, each Bristlebrush
animal is then hand cut, hand painted and beautifully finished with
eyes, wings, legs, feet and beaks made from seeds, nuts, corn husk
and light tree wood. They are so unique because they are our own designs, made to
the highest quality and standards after years of research and
development. There is no cutting corners and no mass machine
production. Because each item is handmade, it means no two are
exactly the same; each item is different and unique. Unlike mass
machine produced imported products, you can be sure we will
provide you with something different and even a little quirky!
