Job diary, part 3: the result ✅

Three split systems and a gas ducted heater, replaced by one Panasonic 16 kW ducted system with AirTouch. Cheaper to run now it's all electric, one system to look after instead of four, and five zones each with their own temperature sensor.

Your aircon is only as good as the electrical behind it. ⚡

We asked Brendan from Renewed Electrical why it matters: cables sized properly, the house's max demand checked, and a new system that doesn't overload the switchboard or trip the circuit.

Job diary, part 2: why these came out 👀

A ducted gas heater with big bills, plus split systems in only a couple of rooms. Four units to look after.

Now it's one system: even temperature through the whole house, and a sensor in each zone so the owners still control every room.

Where should the outdoor unit go? 🤔

Not just wherever it fits. We keep it out of direct sun where we can, leave plenty of room around it so it can do its job, and lift it off the ground on brackets or feet so debris and rust don't build up.

Vent placement matters as much as the outdoor unit. 🌬️

We keep vents away from above beds, put them near the windows on the outside of each room, and bring the air back through a return grille in the hallway so it circulates through the whole house. And we talk the zoning through with you first.
