What an amazing day! ☀️

Perfect weather for getting out, connecting with like-minded family businesses and enjoying everything the Timber + Artisan Show, presented by Peacock Saws at Richlands, had to offer.

We met some wonderfully talented woodworkers and blacksmiths, made some great connections, and of course, had the opportunity to pick up some beautiful timber slabs… which Glen just couldn’t walk past! 😉🪵

For an event only in its second year, it’s already shaping up to be something special, and we’re looking forward to seeing what next year brings!

Thanks to everyone involved in putting on such a fantastic event. It’s always great to see so much talent, passion and craftsmanship in one place!

When matching the old with the new, it’s all in the details. 👌

Our client came to us with a beautiful antique cabinet and wanted a new TV cabinet that looked like it had always belonged alongside it.

We crafted the new piece from solid Australian Red Cedar and veneer, but the real challenge was recreating the original cabinet’s unique ornate edge.

To get it just right, we designed and made three custom router bits specifically to replicate the original detail. The result? A seamless continuation between the antique piece and its new custom addition. ✨

It’s the kind of detail that might go unnoticed at first glance — but it’s what makes a custom piece truly feel like it belongs.

Have an heirloom piece you’d love to extend or add to? Or need something custom made to perfectly match your existing furniture?

We’d love to hear what you have in mind. Get in touch and let’s create something that belongs together.

Why have one custom vanity when you can have two? 👌

Our client wanted something special for both himself and his wife, so we created a matching set of custom vanities, handcrafted from solid and vaneered red gum and finished with a stone benchtop sourced by the client.

If you need a hand sourcing the perfect stone, we can assist with that too — helping bring all the elements of your design together to achieve the look and finish you’re after.

After nearly 10 years under Coops Creative and nearly 35 years in the trade, we decided it was finally time to take the leap and expand the business. 🙌

The past few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind — organising electricians to upgrade the lighting, installing 3-phase power, hiring scissor lifts and forklifts, and somehow finding ways to move some seriously heavy and awkward machinery!

But we’re in, we’re set up, and we’re back doing what we love — creating bespoke masterpieces. 🔨

There’s plenty more room to create, build and bring some pretty awesome ideas to life.
If you’ve got a new consignment coming up or you’ve been sitting on an idea and want to turn that dream into reality, give Glen a call on 0402 838 799.

Otherwise, he’ll be busy filling every inch of the new space at Unit 7/100 Redland Bay Road, Capalaba. 😎
Here’s to the next chapter! 🍻

There’s no better compliment than a client coming back for another piece✨️

After being so pleased with Glen’s craftsmanship on previous projects, this valued client returned to have a custom piece created to help complete their home.

Crafted from solid Jarrah, this beautiful 1100mm-high card table features a tabletop laminated on edge using 200 x 30mm planks, with legs made from solid 90 x 90mm Jarrah. The entire base was constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, ensuring both strength and longevity.

Every component was carefully measured, precision cut, and handcrafted by Glen, resulting in a striking piece that showcases the natural beauty of the timber and the quality that comes from true craftsmanship.

A stunning heirloom piece that will be enjoyed for many years to come.

When a builder approached Coops Creative to craft a 10-foot (3-metre) high Victorian Ash archway for a heritage-listed home in Ascot, we knew it would be a project that demanded both precision and craftsmanship.

This unique commission gave Glen the opportunity to showcase his specialist timber-bending skills. The arch was designed not only as a striking architectural feature, but also to accommodate a custom steel and glass door, adding another layer of complexity to the build.

Because the home's original heritage features had to remain intact, the new archway needed to seamlessly integrate with the existing fretwork and architectural details. To achieve a perfect fit, the existing structure was carefully templated before the arch was crafted, ensuring the new work moulded perfectly into the heritage fabric of the home.

The process required extensive timber bending, with Glen building a custom steam box specifically for the project. The arch itself consisted of 12 laminations, with the steaming and bending completed in batches of six laminations at a time to achieve the required form and structural integrity.

The result is a stunning Victorian Ash arch that not only complements the home's original character but also provides the perfect frame for the new steel and glass door. A challenging project from start to finish, but one that delivered an incredible outcome.

The photos are impressive—but seeing it in person is something else entirely.

Throwing it back to the very first commissioned piece for Coops Creative Designs, created when we first established in February 2017.

This bespoke mobile kitchen bench was handcrafted from beautiful Australian Red Cedar and finished with a stunning stone benchtop, creating a timeless statement piece for the kitchen. The turned legs were custom made to our client’s specifications, giving the piece a unique and personal touch.

We’re incredibly proud that the client loved this piece so much, they have since commissioned two additional bespoke creations from us.
Looking back on where the journey began reminds us how much we value quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and creating pieces that become part of our clients’ homes for years to come.
